Finally, I got my I-485 approved, and my card is on the way.

PS. I did my 2nd fingerprint in March 1st, I think the memo works, and hope you get yours soon!

Congratulations! You've had a long wait.

Thanks for the update on your biometrics. We renewed my husband's on march 3rd. Maybe we'll be soon, too.

I received a call back from my Senator's office today and the staff member was going to do another inquiry since the biometrics were completed more than 6 weeks ago.

How do you know the card is in the mail? Did you receive the notice by mail or by email?

Again--Congratulations! what a relief.

Summer 2001--we met in Manzanillo, Mexico

I just wondering is any reason they pick ppls for name check?

They don't pick people, everyone goes through the FBI namecheck. Just some get stuck longer than others.

But how about the ppls without interview? they had there name check before USCIS send them the GC?

Everyone gets their FBI namecheck ordered shortly after their NOA is issued (unless there is a mixup). Yes, those sans-interview had to have their namecheck cleared prior to gc issuance.

The officer said our case has been under review with an officer (I don't remember the exact wording) since March 14, 2008. I'm guessing that was when the results for the 3/3/08 biometrics came in. He thought we'd be hearing very soon and told us not to move. (Like I would do anything to jeopardize mail delivery at this time!)

that was the response i got for last 2 Infopass appointments , "pending decision by a officer", on my last Infopass the officer said , change of address!!! it is goint to slow the process

Hi - I am curious - how did you find out that your namecheck had cleared? thanks.

For me, I don't think my husband's name check necessarily "cleared" as much as we're included in the February memo. We've definitely been waiting more than 180 days...

My Senator's office is checking in with them again. I'll let you know if they tell me something different.

Our AOS update.

I got a call back from our Senator's office. The rep stated that Seattle CIS office stated that we would

"have a decision within 90 days."

good news, i guess, but until the card is in our hands, I won't hold my breath.

To irritated to type so I'm just reposting what I put in a seperate thread:

At our interview on Nov 6, 2007. The women clearly stated to us that she could not approve the case at that time because the FBI name check had not cleared yet. She gave us info on removing conditions and said once the name check cleared, she would approve our case. I've called the 800 # a few times but got nowhere. On 4/24/08 I called and stated we fell under the 180 day memo. The representative took our info and sent a inquiry in about this. Today we recieved something in the mail. It states that our name check cleared within 2 months but our case can NOT be approved b/c they need to perform addition review on this case???? This is NOT what we were told AT ALL! She said she WOULD approve as soon as our name check cleared and according to them, it's cleared. ####### is going on?!?! HOW do we get answers?

On a side note, in the information given to them from us (or so they say) for that phone call states "type or service requested: interview reschedule" ??? We did not ask to reschedule any interview during that phone call. We went to out initial interview in November. Since then we have only heard from them after I've called asking about the name check. Again, how can I find out what's going on with our case b/c the woman we had our interview said nothing about needing more time.

quick update:

we had our interview this morning...we're in for another bit of waiting...but we are relieved.

Got there early, and we were called relatively quickly. IO didn't ask too many questions, asked husband all the yes/no questions et etc etc.

She only asked to see our wedding album and made copies of photos.

Mainly the IO was more concerned about husband asking when he was interviewed, where etc. She also said that we have TWO A#s...so that has confused things. She asked WHY we filed the I-130 twice and I told her that the lawyer recommended it.

All in all, she said that she needs the other A-#'ed file in order to adjudicate. Also she said that we need to REDO the fingerprints and was surprised that USCIS had not rescheduled us yet. We told her we called USCIS but they said that if needed, we'd be called for fingerprints.

In sum, should take 2 weeks for file to come to Fairfax and another 2-3 weeks for adjudication. We're happy but also a bit worried b/c her questions were like is this your first marriage, first application, etc...but it should be ok..fingers crossed....

The officer was very nice so that was a big relief. :) we have been given a continuation notice and if in 120 days we hear nothing, we can schedule an infopass.

We received a 2nd AOS interview notice today stating in big letters that the interview will be videotaped. Frustrating but glad they have not forgotten about us. They requested we bring all the original documentation again including a medical exam form I-693 do you really think they need this? Under the request for the I-693 are the words "APPEAR EVEN IF NOT COMPLETED" how confusing! What is more disturbing is they ask for original certified copy of indictment/information and judgment for any/all arrests within the US. My husband has NEVER been arrested in ths US, is it possible to get something from the government that states this? My head hurts already I can tell I will be stressing until June 12!
