LaL, i hope you get approved soon. My wife got her so called green paper in early Nov and approved early Jan. So you are right you should hear something soon. I think there just checking again to see if anyone has been in trouble with the law. just my thoughts though. Why then is people getting the green letter at differnt times. You will be next to get approved i will be praying for you and hope this process is over for you.

May I ask what is green paper?

I think he is refering to the green I797 that is a formal request for biometrics. Some people have reported receiving just a plain kinda of white paper. I received the I797

Thanks, I received a plain white paper in middle of Feb 2008, not a formal I797 for 2nd biometrics.

I will keep you guys updated if I receive any good news.

San Jose, CA

03/08/06 AOS 485 filed

around 06/06 Interviewed

02/29/08 2nd fingerprint for 485

04/21/08 485 approved.

04/28/08 Got the card!

some got white some got green

i got today the i-797c to renew my fingerprint ,am i close to green card issue since they're asking for the prints now (after the new rules) and they have been expired 2 years...they never were concerned about them before. All this has happened after we called uscis on March 10 and they sent our regional office a "reminder" that my case is one of the ones affected by the new 180 day namecheck rules.

I went for infopass today. The IO at the counter said the usual thing as I expected --

Me: I would like to know the status of my case

IO: Your case is still pending. Lots of cases are delayed. Just wait your turn

Me: Do you know why its waiting? I mean I passed the interview last august and the officer said its approved.

IO: Not sure why its waiting.

Me: I was told its because of namecheck. What does your computer say ?

IO: I guess thats what it is probably then (trying to pretend as if she doesn't know it)

Me: Do you know about the Feb 4th memo ? I am supposed to be approved based on that.

IO: We are aware of that memo. And we chose a bunch of those pending cases and are working on it.

Me: I understand you guys must be working really hard. Thanks. Can you please tell me if I am in that "bunch"

IO: We cant tell that. Just wait.

It was a waste pretty much all in all. But I have at least made up my mind. I will wait for on year for my green card because 1 year wait is reasonable according to congress. I will have my WOM ready by then. As soon as 1 year passes I am going to sue them.

These people dont understand that we are working hard to build the US economy here, paying taxes to support the criminals that are US citizens and trying to live a decent life and we are treated as if we are some criminals ourselves here.

Not just USCIS. Normally the following people are defendants in a WOM case along with the local AUSA/District Attorney and your local USCIS Director.

basab, do u realize there are people who have been waiting longer then u that the should be processing before u? u should be thankful that it only took u 3-4 months to get an interview and u havent even waited a year yet since interview.

in my husbands case...he waited over a year for interview and 3 for his greencard. dont u think its people like that who should get theirs before urs?

no one likes to wait and its not fair that some are sign sealed and delivered in 3 months while others are waiting years. with the 180 day rule happening it would be fairest to process the oldest first?

the newest report says the back log will be cleared by april 30.

there is no benefit to WOM--which i considered a while back. With the new USCIS memo things should hopefully move along.

you should be approved soon....at least you had an interview (check out my timeline below) and at least you got an EAD card...as people on these boards know, my husband waited 1.5 yrs for an EAD card. We've applied for renewal and we're hoping that it comes through. Ideally of course, we'd have the green card.

Best of luck--cheer up and maybe get the senator or congressman to inquire about it. don't let it go!!! :)

Adding to that even before this new mandate WOM's were being thrown out left & right. Now its even more of a waste of time & money as the judge will see the new mandate and your case will have zero hope.

If they didnt hear cases that had no other way out and were waiting years, they surely are not going to hear your case much less approve it with this new mandate. You have a way out. Seriously we are all very lucky to have had this happen. It will come in time.

i got the email today! had my interview january 2007, and a year and 2 months later the infamous email! applied for my AOS in november of 2006. was in the name check for a year and 2 months and pretty sure i'm getting this now because of the "180 days" rule, just hope and pray it's the 10 year GC. anyone know how long it takes to the get the card after the card production email is sent out?? also on a side note i got an email about my second EAD today too, the production of that card was ordered on the same day too, coincidence?! i think not, another way for USCIS to pocket some extra cash. so, all those waiting, believe! there is hope! this is the email i got:
