My husband's case was approved today! What a relief!

Two years exactly from the "Notice Date" in the I-797.

His second fingerprinting appoitment was on December 1st and that fingerprinting notice came on that green paper from Missouri.

I know some of you have been waiting longer-hang in there! I'm sending good vibes your way.

well it seams someone got it in their thick scull that old cases need to be finished up. its about time. but doesnt it make u wonder why all of a sudden everyone is getting approved? i mean with all the excuses ive heard about how if the united states dont get along with certain countries then that country holds them up...and now all of a sudden everyone is getting approvals....what did suddenly those countries become friendly with the united states...doubtful.

for all you old-timers now getting cards, did you suddenly receive an approval or did you have to re-do fingerprints and then later you get the good news? I feel there is no pattern. Our I-130 keeps getting updated but I am not hopeful--they're probably just dusting the file. :)

I-485 , I-765, I-130: NOA1 : 1/23/2006

Biometrics 2/23/2006

Temporary EAD given for 1 month ONLY b/c of Infopass appt: 5/1/2006

Went back to renew EAD through Infopass: EAD card was not given "due to reasons we can't disclose"

5/3/2007: Confirmation that EAD is delayed due to background checks. (started to use the senator, ombudsman and was just a royal pain in the neck)

5/30/2007: EAD production ordered (after over 400 days of waiting!!! woo hoo!)

AOS Interview: 5/12/2008!!! FINALLLYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

7/29/2008: card production ordered...918 days..can't wait to see that card!

Doh! Those idiots! You should have received a 10-year card. Have a look at this link, which LaL posted in another thread. It looks like you guys will have to fill out an I-90.

Thanks AOS_despair! :)

There has been some celebration, but it’s more a sense of disbelief in being out of the name check and relief at the same time. I’m still compulsively checking this website-it’s hilarious!

I’ll keep you posted if it’s a 2 year or 10 year card.

I hope that you, LaL, Donna, and all the others get approved soon!

Hi again...

Still nothing going on with our status. Been Pending FBI namecheck since October 2005. Happy to see some of the oldtimers but starting to even get more frustrated.

Just read that in Michigan secretary of state will not issue a drivers license to a nonresident, and for purposes of Michigan vehicle code must be permanent residents and not temporary or transient. They will have to document legal and permanent residency in the us., stating most still can drive using the license of their home country. Is this ridulous for us pending applicants!!!!Is this going to be yet another hassle for us waiting on namechecks!!! I currently have a license but am afraid come renewal next year!

Has anyone encountered this new legislation yet in their state???

Just want that green card!!!

It is a Michigan specific law because of a concern raised by the AG I believe. Anyway it is being debated currently, so it is not likely to be a permanent problem. But as far as I know, no other state has this issue currently. I think you'll be Ok by the time your renenwal comes up next year. Just wait till Ford states protesting when their thousands of Canadian and other employees can no longer get to work.
