AOS interview successful, but waiting for FBI name check

Our case hasn't been touched since 06.03.2005 when I had the first fingerprint appointment.

Slavrina, my husbands case laid 10 months with no touches before his greencard came. I do believe that until the namecheck clears, the file is simply stored away. No need for them to touch it really, you know? The local office is just as much at the mercy of the FBI as we are.

it just seams like since something new happened like fingerprinting something should happen to the portfolio like it did in our ead fingerprinting. we had them the same day and only one got touched.

Donna, my husband's fingerprints and EAD biometrics were taken on January 4. The EAD showed a touch the same day and I received the Card Production Ordered e-mail a few days later (much to my delighted surprise!), but the AOS hasn't been touched. It's still showing July 12, 2007, as the last touched date, which was probably when some paper-shuffling occurred.

K-1

March 7, 2005: I-129F NOA1

September 20, 2005: K-1 Interview in London. Visa received shortly thereafter.

December 30, 2005: I-485 received by USCIS

May 5, 2006: Interview at Phoenix district office. Approval pending FBI background check clearance. AOS finally approved almost two years later: February 14, 2008.

Received 10-year green card February 28, 2008

Hey guys,

I have been reading this thread intently and just want to say that I am amazed at how strong you have all been in coping with such a frustrating situation. The level of incompetence and bureaucracy that we have to deal with, simply to be able to live with our spouse, be able to work, travel and have simple rights just makes me so so angry! I hope that it makes you feel a bit better knowing that there are people who are really sympathetic to your predicament, I actually haven't been able to sleep because it has been bothering me so much knowing how aggravated you must be!

We filed for AOS, EAD and AP at the end of November and had Biometrics roughly a month later but have heard nothing else yet. I have a sneaking feeling that due to my general unluckiness we shall be one of the couples who wait for the FBI name check too. I hope if that happens I can be part of the club and we can compare tips on how to quell our rage?

If we are lucky and don't have the name check nightmare then I'll just go and give the FBI a good talking to for you all...

Deal? :P
