Hi everyone,

Today my husband received a letter from the USCIS in that fancy "green paper" requesting him to go in for a new set of fingerprints regarding his I-485 application. The ASC code is 1. His previous I-485 fingerprinting notice had a ASC code 3. The last set of 10 fingerprints were taken on 3/10/06.

At the end of September, I wrote my senator asking her office to check on our case. Still haven't heard from her office, but I will call her office tomorrow. I don't know if her office's inquiry caused this letter to show up in the mail. I'm not getting my hopes up, but can anyone explain the fingerprinting "code 1"?

-----------------------

1/24/06 - NOA for I-130, I-485

3/10/06 - fingerprints

6/09/06 - interview

Ca-girl, what's new with your husband's application? Did he get his fingerprints redone? Is the GC on the way?

Hi AOS Despair!

My husband will go for fingerprinting on December 1st. It's a 3 hour drive. And we're still waiting to hear from our Senator's office. There are periods of time when I forget about this whole process; however recently, it's been causing me a lot of anxiety. Let's hope we all get out of this conundrum soon!

2 years and 13 days from NOA to card in hand!

Hello Everyone,

My wife had her second fingerprints redone on 11/2 and still no answer so i dont know if the greencard is on its way or not. Im wondering but not getting my hopes up on 11/2 she was still in a background check thats what they said at the infopass. Thats just crazy shes been waiting since Oct 05 thats her ND. I hope we here something in 30 days or so. She got the same fancy green paper with code 1 fingerprints expired as some of the people in this thread so everyone hang in there.

Apparently, it was sent out the day after the interview and my husband completely forgot to mention it to me (we're currently living in different addresses because of my job commitments). Yesterday we went for an infopass appointment just to learn that our name check is still pending. Total six and a half months since we filed AOS and 3 and a half months since interview. I am sure lot many people here are waiting longer. I asked the lady at the counter whats the maximum wait time to get this name check cleared and she said some folks are waiting since 2002....

Howdy

If you're sure that FBI name check is the hold-up (which I suspect you are), there's no way to know when it will be completed, and sadly, there's no way to find out the status or when it's likely to be completed. You just have to sit tight. And visit this thread to commiserate, of course. :)

There is overwhelming evidence that the Infopass appointment is a waste of time, so spare yourself that frustration!

Hi to all! In my case, my interview was cancelled and till now, i dont have any feedback from USCIS :( It's really upsetting where you don't know what happen and when the processing will be finished. I also didn't received any letters thats saying that they are doing name check. This week,it would be the 7th month and we are hoping that once we are going to call the immigration, we could be able to talk with the IO.

I didn't applied for EAD so i do have a questions for all of you guys. If i applied for EAD, will my application be affected by my pending GC? or they will approve my EAD even my GC is still pending?

I am praying that all our GC will be approve soon! God bless!

Hey all,

I just received a letter from my local office to get fingerprints done for my 485. I hope this is a good thing. Heres an interesting paragraph from the letter:

Dear Applicant,

To continue processing your application, INS must send your fingerprints to the Federal Bureau of Investigation for a criminal history check. ........

Hmm, I already did two time in the past. Also I thought the "INS" didn't exist, isn't it now the USCIS?

Heres the real kicker though. I did an official address change on January 4, 2007. Received a letter from USCIS acknowledging the change. This new fingerprint letter dated November, 23, 2007 was sent to my previous address???? They however reversed 2 of the numerical digits in the old address. Thankfully the post office delivered to the previous address(my in-laws).

I called the 1-800 number...their response,"odd."

They said to do another address change and an Infopass appointment.

I went online to make an appointment, and guess what? No appointments available.

I called USCIS back. They told me just go there on a Wednesday morning between 8-12 and tell the security guard you can't get an appointment.

Next week, I'll try.

I'll go in for my fingerprint tomorrow. I'll keep you posted.

Aos pending 41 month so far!
