whats the deal with the PA stuck people? some where i missed the beginning of whats going on with that.

I was looking for someone in that area as the two senators Casey & Spector are very interested in this problem. They want to hear from their own constituents :).

Well the target was the PA Senators. It can only help getting legislation passed by meeting face to face with any of your elected officials, so if you went in, of course it can help. I just know specifically these senators were looking for additional affected constituents. We have many in PA in our other group.

I can check on OH members.

That's all they will ever tell you on the phone or via email. I wouldn't expect any less. As far as the senator stating that, be sure you are contacting either Brown or Voinovich. The rest are state senators and will have nothing to do with immigration.

Best case scenario is to meet face to face. Only then will they pay any attention to you among all the "where is my NOA2??" mail they get. Sorry to sound so crass, but I see more often than not, people contacting their elected officials for nothing more than normal processing questions.

Hi all,

When did you all start making Infopasses after the interview was done? I had my interview on 12th Sept; making it 5 weeks tomorrow. I have not had even one update since then. Is it time for me to start making an Infopass? I want to call the customer service and ask to speak to an Immigration Officer, to find out, at the least when my name-check was initiated.

Thank you.

I'm not sure that making an InfoPass appointment will be helpful. If it's convenient for you to stop in, it can't hurt to inquire, but more than likely, you'll be told what you already know: that the processing of your application cannot be resumed until USCIS gets confirmation from the FBI that your background check has been completed. If you know for sure that the name check is the hold-up (which I'm guessing is the case if that's what you were told at the interview), there really isn't anything you can do but wait. I understand feeling compelled to do something because you feel so helpless in this situation, but going through the hassle of visiting the local office only to be told to sit tight is a real drag.

Someone else might have had a better experience. Anyone?

i dont remember how long we waited to make an infopass apt. it is too far for us to drive just to be told u gotta wait. when we do go its when we have to go for fingerprinting for work auth and just kill two birds with one stone that way since its done in the same building.

we did try to make an appointment to see our congressman and they told us he dont take appointments and we had to go thru his liason and he would take care of things. well we already tried the liason and he did absolutly nothing so thats why we wanted an appointment with tim ryan. i feel like i run into a brick wall at every attempt. so i guess that means we have to wait it out or file the wom.

We received notice today, via email, that his card has been ordered.

I feel so embarrassed for posting in this topic. The interview was 8/29, so we were only in flux for six weeks.

Good luck to all.

congratulations chaplin. most people dont get stuck for very long but there are a few of us that see no end in site. dont be embarrased cuz many do come here with the same results. most people dont realize that just cuz u dont get approval that day because of name check it doesnt mean your stuck. but with not knowing how long it will take u dont know ahead of time if ur stuck or not.

CONGRATULATIONS, chaplin! This is great news and gives hope to the rest of us here. I wish you all the best with you life now. Go out and celebrate :) and yeah, like Donna A wrote, there's no need for embarrasment.

I want to thank everyone who replied to my question on making an Infopass, guess I'll wait it out a bit more...

Introduced: H.R. 3828: Citizenship and Immigration Backlog Reduction Act

Rep. Yvette Clarke [D-NY] introduced this bill.

A bill was actually passed earlier this week introduced by Senator Levin (one who AFU has met face to face with) that mandates the FBI to report to congress how many people are waiting for namecheck and the length of the wait. I do not think it is on THOMAS yet though.

One small step, this will hold them more accountable and this will add pressure to the FBI to complete cases in a timely manner.
