A quick question, please pardon my ignorance, when the interviewer says that he/she will approve your I-130 but name check is pending for I-485, how quickly does the status change for the I-130 online? I am just curious because I noticed that it didn't change by the end of the interview day itself.

Does one wait for days, weeks or months to the new approved status?

Does the I-130 status change once the name check clears? Or before that?

Also is there a number one could call to check on the FBI name check status?

Thank you for your help, guys. All the best to everyone.

Your I-130 status will change in a few days....max a week. No the I-130 approval has nothing do do with name check clearance. My name check is pending but my I-130 is approved. In fact the I-130 thing is irrelevant. I was told the same thing at the interview as you were. Try calling this number for status 202 324 3625

We received the CRIS emial on the 27th of August approving out I-130

Receipt Number: MSCXXXXXXXXXX

Application Type: I130, IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN

Current Status: Approval notice sent.

On August 27, 2007, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN. Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service.

So the I-130 approval has no relation to the name check being clear as our case status is still the same for the I-485 and has been the same since 5/4/07. A few touches ( 3 since receipot ) and Nothing else...

We have scheduled an infopass ( well I have ) for 9/27/07 to see the status, my husband has 1 son that was over 18 when we married and without his GC we can not apply for this particular son. The other 2 sons are in process now with the NVC

USC Married 4/2007 Colombian ( my Paisa ) on overstay since 2001 of B1/B2 visa

4/29/07 I485, I-765 , I-130

RD 5/4/07

Biometrics 7/5/07

Ead notice sent 7/18, card received 7/24

I-485 Interview date 8/23/07 Interview went well Marrigae is real BUT Pending namecheck :crying:

LUD on I-485 5/17 , 8/24 and 8/27 message same received 5/4/07

I-130 Approved 8/27/07

Why is it that the only one who can stop the crying is the one who started it in the first place?

Hello to everyone!

Well, months and months of reading this post (and hoping that eventually I would sail through this name check quickly enough NOT to drive myself crazy) I finally decided to join "the luckiest" ones in this limbo  , at least, you, guys - are the main reason I still maintain my sanity, at least I try to - knowing that you're not the only one does help a lot! I've been stuck in the name check since July 2005 :crying: My husband and I have contacted every possible person who could actually help us - to no avail, alas (yes, even president Bush, he didn't reply, of course - I guess, he's too busy helping out the illegal immigrants to actually pay attention to the legal ones - sorry, couldn't help it). The worst thing is that there is NO update whatsoever, the last time my case has been even "touched" was in July 2006, calling the NCSC and talking "apples and oranges" with whomever deigns to answer the phone and most importantly not to hang up on you (yes, that happened numerous times to us), or going to our local office - didn't help much either, nobody seems to know anything. Sometimes I feel like I've been completely forgotten. I know I'm not the only one, but this waiting is killing me. And I'm very happy for those who are done with it, I guess, when this happens to me I will cry and rejoice too. Have a good one!

welcome the patient one. Sorry to see you are pending so long, I know it can be agonizing :( and I would say everyone here knows the feeling of being "forgotten. I am glad to see this thread still offers some comfort to those waiting in the abyss.

*sigh*

See.............THIS is USCIS inefficiency and disregard for humanity. NOT waiting four months for NOA2 on your visa, or waiting over 90 days to get a greencard without an interview, or any of the other numerous whines you read on VJ daily.

patient one, I'm also sorry to read your story.

I wish everybody going through the process would read this thread. Maybe there'd be less belly-aching around here and little bit more civility and kindness.

Try to convince yourself that at the end, you will be billed $1 for every time you logged on. :)

It is difficult, but try to remember that you are not speeding the process along - in fact you are expending energy that could be used on more helpful things.

We are also not that far into it, but please believe me that the obsessive want to check does subside. Concentrate on the good that you do have. Build from that. The email will arrive. It might take some effort (emails/letters/visits) to move it along, but use this energy then.

The 'effort' you spend won't move your case along. BUT it's still good to be pro-active about it. Should it ever become necessary for legal action against DHS, a paper trail of your efforts will go a long way in convincing a judge that it wasn't YOUR fault the case languished.

I already have letters prepared for senator's , congressmen/women and the first lady. When we go to infopass I'm hoping to get the date that namecheck was submitted to be able to place this in letters I will be sending. Since the first post today I have only checked the case status 6 times and my email 4 times :)
