I have been waiting for 3 1/2 weeks now and the first week I was like you, checking it 10 times a day but that was driving me crazy so I decided to just stop and I only check once every two days, since there is nothing any of us can do to make it faster, but I do feel very very sorry for the one of you that have been waiting for a year or so!!!

Ok, I am trying to post my timeline, but I am sure I forgot a few details, ask me if you have any questions

In these situations, it helps to have very low standards and expect the worst. And stay far away from the forums in which people who filed a couple of months ago are gleefully announcing AOS approval. (FINALLY!!!!!!!)

It also may be a good time to discover a new hobby, such as drinking extremely potent margaritas. Or maybe tequila straight from the bottle.

May 5, 2006: Interview at Phoenix district office. Approval pending FBI background check clearance. AOS finally approved almost two years later: February 14, 2008.

37 months, and 4 days since we filed for I-485

Filed for I-485 AOS 7-12-04

File went to FBI for Name Check on 10-08-2004

AOS interview 2-16-2006

Told that AOS approved "Pending Name Check"

Refiled for EAD 12-12-2006

EAD approved 3-04-2007

I-131-AP filed 2-18-2007

I have written both Senators of my state with no luck.

I have written my district congressman with no luck.

They all say it is out of their hands.

I even wrote GW Bush a letter asking for help , but got no reply.

I think if its 48 months since you married then the green card that you'll get will be a 10 year one. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong.

So wait for few more months

Sorry I meant 24 months....not 48....yes its not a consolation but I am pretty sure someone had a post in this thread according to which you would not need to lift conditions. If you get one now it will be a 10 year green card.

Also its been only 11 days since I had my interview pending this name check....I understand how you are feeling...Did you call the Washington DC number to check your name check status ?

The number is 202 324 3625
