i was wondering does anyone know if it seams like fbi checks are completed faster then the ones who adjust in the usa such as k-1 and k-3? has anyone ever heard of anyone getting stuck for years for cr/1 and the other one?

well i had a interesting article from my local newspaper this week to share with you all but i scaned it and now its too big to upload and i dont have any idea of how else to share it. makes me mad cuz it was really good too. just my luck.

the woman was talking about why are the ones who came legally are getting punished in name checks and they want to bring the illegals into the mix and move the legals even farther back in the que. her advice to the dept. of homeland security....clear the damn baglogs first. memeo to the senate...clear the backlogs first. memo to the white house...clear the backlogs first.

wow...someone who is actually with us stuck legals.

That editorial was in our newspaper too, donnaal. The issue is largely unknown to the general public and it was good to see it 'out there' for them to read.

CR1 doesn't go through AOS over here - the adjustment process is part of their visa process. Thus the reason their visa wait is somewhat longer than K1s or K3s.

Our FBI background check was sent back to Indianapolis last December after 2 years, and still we wait. Have a letter from them saying they will have a decision by May- nothing. The senators office is now making its second inquiry about this.

Anyway my question is about the new EAD fees is it going up from $180 and if so when?

good news...somebody told me that they are hiring 400 people just for take care of the namecheck backlog, they wanna get this done until the end of this year...i hope so!!!

that would be great if its the truth and these 400 people dont take forever to be trained. lets just hope they can finish by the end of the year cuz we will have to apply again for ead in dec for my husband at the new rates which sucks big time.

 i have so little patience for this process today... i really have to bite my tongue.

(and journeyhelper - the fees go up 7/30/07)

((((((hugs))))))

I understand how you feel. This process can be so frustrating at times, and down right looong at other times. But here's hoping that the swell in numbers of folk being approved and posting such on VJ indicates a change in the tide for everyone who has been waiting ages.

On a side note, we did get an email from CSC stating that we are under review so whether that's another good sign or not, I don't know. But I look on the fact they are still talking to us as an indication that they are indeed working hard in the CSC and they may well, indeed, see July as a great month to approve all us old-timers.

I have my fingers crossed, for all of us.

Journey Helper...

The new EAD is $340 and the new advanced parole fee will be $305!!!

I think the ones that have paid for these over 4 times should get a discount!!!

We are also bugging the senators, ombudsman, etc. with no luck. October 2005 was our "approved" pending FBI namecheck and no one seems to want to help; standard response; you're not the only one waiting!!!! I just love the strange looks when someone who doesnt know better says : " But you married a USC"! \They think its that easy!!!! NOT

I am approaching the 3 year mark. I cannot imagine a VO telling me that I have to wait just like everybody else. I am sure I would go Postal on them.

Thanks for the information on the fee increase. $180 to $340 is crazy. I thought once the FBI name check was complete the process would really speed up. But nooooooooooooo! now it has been in the district office since December. And yes they told us he was approved pending namecheck. I hope this is not the case for anyone else, but evidently there is no end to the waiting.
