In the last few days I've seen boxcar loads of 'em on here, and some even under 60 days. Some even have the nerve to start their announcement post using the word 'finally'. It's pretty callous.

It really is patently unjust.

Indeed! Perhaps these thoughtless posters should be directed to my (admittedly unsuccessful) VJ proposal: Proposed VisaJourney Rule

I love the reply "you had me at velveeta". And yes, it can be very frustrating when people seem so gleefully smug that they get processed so fast, then have the thoughtless insensitivity to gloat or exclaim in all caps how delighted they are. Talk about rubbing it in! The one that got me started off by announcing they were processed in 44 days... I couldn't bring myself to reply lest I put my fist through the computer.

Not that I'm bitter. I just marvel at the inconsistencies within the process, and am amazed when people start to sweat buckets after it's been less than a month and USCIS hasn't been in touch or their green card wasn't in the post. But then I think we old-timers (even those of us who have yet to reach our 'year' mark) must be getting a bit hardened by the process.

Whether it has any affect or not, I liked the proposed changes that USCIS are looking to implement - the whole going electronic thing as posted here on VJ [source] and told to me by my hubby - serves me right for not paying attention, lol. There might not be a lot of changes that we notice during our process, since these take time, but if our experiences help change it for tomorrow, then I can only guess that our trials and tribulations were not for nothing.

The ombudsman heard us and he wrote it all down in an official capacity, everything from the miss-information line's astonishing ability to pi$$ us all off with their lack of knowledge, skill, usefullness or even tact. He heard us when we moaned and wrote about the lack of accountability for those stuck in the FBI name check and how getting any speedy resolution was as likely as getting blood out of a stone (and they at least managed *that* in a commercial). And here the USCIS are, trying to change for the better.

So while I might have a burning compulsion to smack the snot out of those who gloat about being processed in record speed, at least I know that the journey we have been on has been eventful, (and frustrating, and bitterly impossible, and at times loathed enough to make me cry) but at least we are on the path and at least we are together.

And whether that conclusion greets us in a few days, or a long bundle of months from now, it hasn't been for nothing.

And, much as I might want to, I can't really argue with that.

Annie, I think it's OK to be bitter! I've even started categorizing my levels of bitterness. It's therapeutic. :)

My latest peeve is people whose applications were held up by name check for a relatively short time--say, two or three months--acting as if they are combat vets and lecturing others about the virtues of patience.

I'm grateful for this thread! It is certainly a refuge, and it's helpful to know that we're not the only poor suckers in this situation.

Well.....I am STILL waiting too...will have to apply for my third EAD soon before the prices go up. Seems like theres a LOT of money being made because of the delay.....and we are all considered threats to national security....they obviously arent too concerned. I too get really ticked off when i see people approved in a few months and I still sit here waiting :(
