AOS interview successful, but waiting for FBI name check

Did anyone see the new USCIS site? I cant find a way to log in to my portfolio? Are they gone?

Did you check the bottom right of the new main page, there's a field there for case #'s, I'm not sure if it works or not.

On the top right where it says ... whether your case is pending or approved.. click on it... and then on the next page there is an option of checking your case online .. and that will take you the old screen where you can check your status.

Yeah! We are off the list. Recieved the welcome letter today, 11/1/06. We were approved on 10/24/06. I haven't bothered checking the tracker for awhile, guess I should of.

Funny thing is, we just moved to a new state. We called to report the new address, sent in the form AR-11, etc. Of course, nobody new anything, call back in 90 days, everyone here knows the drill.

So we began stressing that with the change of address, we would really be screwed. I think what actually happened is someone went in the back, found the file, and said "Oh, this has been approved for 2 months, guess we'll go ahead and process it..." We reported the address change about a week before the 24th, so go figure.

I don't know, but we are out of the hell of Name Check.

Jeez. That's a long time to wait plus a very weird timeline. Your file was transfered 9 months after you interviewed, then you got an RFE, and now you have a letter regarding the namecheck?

Received the following email today after an email request to liaison@leo.gov asking about my fingerprint check.

Your fingerprints were processed by the FBI and the results were returned to immigration on 12/15/05. You are most likely awaiting the results of the FBI name check. The name check department is located at the Washington, DC headquarters of the FBI and currently that office is not accepting inquiries from the public. Last year alone, 3.5 million names were forwarded to that division for review, so they are in a backlog status. Please keep in contact with your immigration officer. Immigration will be notified when the name check is complete. I am sorry that I do not have any more information for you at this time.

anthony got a letter from DHS this morning. when we saw the envelope we just *knew* it was his welcome to america letter. imagine my surprise when he opened the letter, and instead found this:

I believe another member received the same response, and every correspondence I have received stated 6 months also (just a way to deflect you IMHO).

If I had to interpret it, additional processing is a generic phrase re: namecheck. I dont see how it could be anything else, it's not like they called you for a 2nd interview, of course it's all just speculation on my part.

It is positive that they responded to you, I have sent 4 service requests and have yet to receive anything.

Oh, I wonder if we are all going to start getting these letters.

I'm not going to defend them one bit, but they know they have a serious problem with these checks. To the point where it's been reported that beginning next year no more interviews will be scheduled unless the name check is done.

I think these letters are CYA on their part. What they are going to do to FIX the problem remains to be seen.

Our problem is that our marriage is 4 years now. I could of applied for Citizenship..but i do not have any green cards yet. Going to the lawyer on Monday...could not stand it anymore....1,5years after interivew...

what would you suggest us to do...
