Hello everybody!

I think I've ran into a serious snag with my evidence of ongoing relationship portion of things. I'm currently trying to get all my chat logs and call logs together... I was told it would be best to have 2-4 screenshots from every week since the relationship started. My problem is that ALL OF THIS is on Facebook and there seems to be no good way to go through hundreds of thousands of pages of conversation. I've tried the search function on the web version of Messenger... it doesn't work with dates only keywords. I've tried mobile Facebook's chat... would require me to click "view older messages" probably a million times. And it seems the option to download my Facebook data just lumps everything into one big file. I need to have the dates... and the call logs... but it seems there's no function there to help me get this. Please. If anybody has any advice on how they've done this can they please let me know? My fiance is in the Philippines and I am pretty sure they fall into the category of "High Risk" or whatever and I just want to make sure I include as much as I possibly can. Thanks everyone in advance for your help!

Philippines doesn't fall into the high risk or high fraud category.

Plus, you have the right idea about a couple messages here and there to show timeline of relationship/ongoing conversation.

First, relax. Not everyone holds onto all conversations because they don't know they need it even.

For us, we sent in with the I-129f petition, 2-3 pages of our original emails that we somehow still had. Then about 10 screen shots of conversations since then showing dates and such to show the timeline.

For the interview we sent in another 20-30 messages showing continuing conversations and such. No call logs or anything.

So it may be a hassle to go through the history of messages; but it's worth it trust me. I spent a lot of time going through text messages on my iphone (we used Imessage) to get screen shots of everything but again it was worth it. If you can't just donwload them all, then just scroll through and screen shot them or use the snipping tool then print those.

We only provided a a page or 2 for every month we were together and it was fine for Manila.

You can generate an export of all your facebook data, then pull out the chats from there. It's not much better than just re-clicking the Show More link over and over, but it's something at least.

I second the page or 2 for every month, we submitted 10 pages to document 14 months of relationship, this was also in Manila. Don't overthink it, it's just one level of evidence

Try searching for keywords you can think of that would be tied to specific times... like if you think you talked about either of your birthdays, try "birthday" and hopefully that might pull you to a couple different months. Or if you talked about a specific activity you know happened at a specific time, try keywords related to that. It's such an annoying guessing game, but like everyone else said - don't stress too much - even just keyword searching really random words that you've likely used a lot, like "dinner" or something, then using the "next/previous" function may help you skip around through dates a lot faster.

Oh, p.s. it looks like there is a "search conversation" function on the FB chat mobile app, which I feel like wasn't there when I was using mobile to screen shot video chat timestamps. Is that a new update?! :jest:

Good luck!

What stage of the process are you in?

We semi-recently had a vacation together in Hong Kong. About 6 months ago. And now that I've saved the money we need we're going ahead with the visa process. We're collecting evidence and organizing our I-129F. And we hope to have it done and sent in by the end of this month.

Chatlogs is not needed for the petition.

petition needs hard evidence of meeting within last 2 years.

Well I think we have that covered mostly. We have lots of pics together. Boarding passes... (I didn't get a stamp in my passport but I do have the slip that the immigration department gave me validating my length of stay), receipts, bank statements, itineraries, ticket receipts, hotel booking, etc.

Then you definitely don’t need 2 pages from each week... especially for this stage. You sound pretty covered.

Who said this? You don't need extensive chat logs. I wouldn't say that the Philippines is super high risk (yes people get scammed) and most get approved without any issues. I think my wife had like 20+ pages TOTAL with just a few pages of chat logs. Honestly if you search on here you will see the many many threads about sending lots of evidence.

Basically all my resources of what to do and what to expect have come from online. I've known my fiance since around 2007 and we've been friends all my "adult" life (I'm only 23.) So that sort of scammed is not at all anything I'm concerned with. I guess when I posted I didn't really know what was meant by "fraud" or "high risk" and that was my bad. But everything you guys have said so far is very reassuring. I'm feeling a lot better knowing I have more than enough and that I don't need a book full of chat logs.

I got a RFE for evidence extra evidence even though I had originally sent a ton of conversation screenshots + a ton of pictures and passport stamps/boarding passes from all the times we met.  The boilerplate RFE specifically said that screenshots and emails and stuff don't count so I think they just looked at them and thought I had sent JUST screenshots. When I replied tp the RFE, I re-sent back only the condensed version with JUST THE SOLID evidence like photos and passport stamps and boarding passes, and sent NO screenshots the second time. That worked. I don't think adding conversation screenshots will hurt, but definitely a few ones is enough, and make sure that the photos are visible first.

At the petition stage conversation evidence can hurt particularly if there is soo much of it the real evidence is buried or lost in all the "noise"

Yeah, I didn't know that back when I started the whole I-129 process. Back then, everything I had read made it seem that the more, the better. I definitely didn't send any fluff like conversations when I did my AOS and will not either with the ROC.
