Advance Parole + Purchasing Airplane Tickets

Okay it makes a difference though whether you are just making a reservation or actually booking your ticket. Most purchases are actually going through a booking procedure where each passenger already receives an e-ticket number 24-48 hours prior to the flight that will match your name. If it was an actual booking and you show up at the airport with a different name on your travel document it's a shitshow for them to change it. Because they already have generated an e-ticket number matching your name,  they have to then generate a new e-ticket number which from what I learned is surprisingly difficult for them as   their IT team that usually sits somewhere in Bangladesh or so needs to fix it. Yours seemed to be JUST a reservation, so you were lucky that it hadn't been actually booked under your name. Big difference.

It was an actual booking and I wrote "When I bought my ticket". But thanks for being so condescending. I simply wrote my experience.

it's up to you how you want to interpret my explanation. I guess I should've added some smiley faces for you so it wouldn't sound condescending. Here you go :)

the consulate also expects you to register your marriage with the appropriate branch within a year of marriage, there is a minor fee associated with doing so

The consulate may expect it but it rarely happens and there is no fee required if it isn't completed within a year. You just have to give them a reason why it wasn't done.

I am still rolling on the floor laughing at this. I thought I was the only one left using that wording. Thanks for making my day,  and your right, now when you travel internationally most airlines send your passport information and e-ticket information ahead of your arrival in the country you are traveling to, so it is important it matches your travel documents.

Always book the ticket with the name of the valid travel document she needs to use for the travel. e.g. if you fly outside of the US you need to present your passport....hence use the name that is in the passport. If you fly within the US, you only need to present your ID, hence use the name written on the US ID. I feel like it's common sense

When she enters the US with her AP card which as her new married name, be prepared to show the marriage certificate since her passport name differs from her AP card name.

I know people advise you to change the name in your passport. I am personally am not planning on taking a day off work to drive three hours to the consulate to get a new passport even though it's still valid for another 4 years. I'll change it once it expires.

What you say is true and common sense but you can still use your passport for domestic travel. Don’t only need to use AP or US ID. We just used passport last week with no problem even though she had an AP card. Up to the traveler if they want to use AP or passport for domestic travel.

Actually it costs $25 when filing it

The fee you pay regardless of when you file for the ROM. It could be 1 month or 10 years and you would still pay the $25 fee.

It is not hard at all but your first post made it sound like there was a fee associated with not filing for the ROM within the 1st year or I might have not read that right yesterday when I posted it due to no sleep.

I swear yesterday was a off day for me. Not enough sleep dealing with the baby and having to deal with Consular Outreach as well. It was a long long day yesterday.

No worries .. I was just curious why so contentious

Lack of sleep and having to deal with the Philippine Consular Outreach yesterday. It was a culmination of different things. The wife and I were both just frazzled yesterday afternoon due to the Outreach taking literally almost 3 hours, but "It's More Fun in the Philippines"
