Low/No Credit history - Options for Joint Credit Card with Both Names

Hi, We sending docs for ROC and found like we don't have both names at Credit card statements because my wife added as authorized user at Bank of america credit card only and they are not adding both names at monthly statements. We sent Credit Cards images and statements of few months. We had both names at other couple of checking accounts, that helped some part.

I'm thinking to have on Credit card statements too if may be RFE or Interview - needed to provide more docs then it will help so, i remember i tried adding her name to credit cards as Co-applicant which i have at chase and bank of america, because of zero credit history or something like that they didn't approve to add her at Bank of america, Chase, may be since she not working from 2-3 years, Do you know, better options for joint credit cards like may be no credit or bad credit cards or other options adding her to my accounts?

Thanks!

I don't think any bank allow join credit card. You just add your spouse as a authorized user, then make a copy of the front of credit card( one with your name and one with your spouse name), and the credit card number on both card should be the same.

If the couple has low credit or no credit, generally you'd want to add your spouse to your bank account first. Then you'd want to try a secured credit card, and add the spouse as an authorized user. Secured cards allow you to put an up front deposit, which is essentially your credit limit. With good credit practice, you'd get your deposit back within six months or so, your credit is upped, and you establish a score. That's what we did, and my husband has a very good score now.

A lot of secured cards do have fees associated, but Discover does not. There shouldn't be any reason why you can't add your spouse as an authorized user to an account though. Even housewives can be authorized users on their husband's accounts.

Yeah, you're correct even house wives also have cards, i don't know before marriage her history was not that good or something. I'll try Cards like Capital one if that don't work then i will do Secure cards. Thanks for your inputs.

We do not have both names on the bill, but I assume you could ask them if that's possible. I am an authorized user on my husband's account, and you can pull up account records reflecting that. Once you are approved for an account, you ask them to add an authorized user, and both of you will receive letters about adding a user to the account which you could use for the ROC. Even if both names weren't on the bill they could easily see purchases made by each individual on their cards on the bill each month. If you have a joint bank account set up, you can pay for the Discover bill straight out of the account online or by a check each month.
