Good morning to all.

I'm getting married in a few months. I'm a U.S. Citizen and he's a South Korea national. This is the thing. When looking up information in req a CR1 after we're married, I see we both have to show police reports from our countries. He has a misdemeanor in  Korea, from 15 years ago. I knew this very early in our relationship. He had to do community service as punishment. My question is, is this a immediate denial? In Korea it doesn't matter how long ago it was it always stays on your report. This is the only thing that he has.

Thanks in advance!

Also, I have my interview next week for my CR1 and I had a misdemeanor 11 years ago.  Hasn't been an issue for me yet.

Police reports for time inside the US are not required for CR-1 visas.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

So this means I don't have to show on my part? I've never had anything. He's never been in the U.S.

Unless you have lived outside the US, you don not have to submit any police reports.  US Background checks will be done as part of your case.
