I watched the vid again a lil bit ago to see what doodle was talking about, and man...if those were his nuts, omG. But as it's been said, it's just bulges of fat that had nowhere left to go. I really find it gross that he wasn't all covered up...man, at least put a sheet on your chest cos that shiznit is nasty and who wants to look at it? Eww gross!!!!

He looks like a piece of furniture...it was strange looking at him...like a big endless mound of flesh with a head on top. I can't even understand how his weight doesn't prevent him from breathing and crush him when he lays down.

I feel sorry for the guy, but I really don't think he'll ever be normal again.

those are tumors. not just buldges of fat. not that he doesn't have lots of fat...lol...but each tumor weights HUNDREDS of pounds. one on each leg.

Even if he did manage to lose a large amount of weight he would then need extensive surgery to remove all of the excess skin. So no, he would never look 100% normal and I don't think he would ever shrink to, say 180lbs, and keep it that way either.

its an uphill battle for sure! what is it.... 90% of people who lose weight gain it all back (and more)!!!!!

lisa, i'm not sure. they didn't mention if they were caused by the fat or if they were a separate issue. they did mention he had one huge one on his leg when he was only 200something pounds and it caused depression and he started to balloon from there. so maybe not. he had that one surgically removed then these two popped up. ugh poor guy

And to get that heavy and not be able to get out of bed- or walk.

At what weight does one stop being able to get up and walk? That would be horrifying.

I have to really talk myself into getting up off of this chair...should I start to worry?

That guy was linked to BBC news today.

He has lost close to 200 kg (over 400 lb) in one year.

So now he can get out of his apartment again... So at least he is slowly getting there. I hope he'll have the patience and supporting people around him.

He wouldn't. I saw the entire documentary that that clip was taken from, and his mum was pretty obese herself. Obese parents usually have obese kids, for whatever reason.
