That's kinda odd.

I don't discuss money with my wife or finances.  I have one joint account with her that we started as soon as she got her for immigration and AOS paperwork. She doesn't have access to any of my bank accounts.  She has her own checking account where she keeps her money she earns in, I told her I don't want to be a signer on her account.

I have purchased my wife 2 cars since she has been here for 3 years, I don't discuss it with her,  I am the man as head of the household it is my decision and duty to control the finances.

We have access to both our joint and private accounts. He manages our budget spreadsheet. We decided early on that any purchase over $100 will need to be discussed. He certainly gets paid more than I do and our mortgage & some utilities come from his paycheck. Any money we gift or lend to family, we discuss first. My marriage is a partnership and we have equal control over all aspects of our life together, especially the finances.

So, your setup is very odd to me. But, that’s your marriage.

Same here my asawa has access to everything but anything more than $150 or $200 she discusses with me first unless she knows I will like it. I am the only that works right now but we get along just fine from my job and my VA pay. She will start a teaching job at a private school in August so then she will have more control over her own finances. I told her that once she starts teaching and can support a new car on her salary then she can trade in her Murano and get whatever she wants.

During the first few years of our marriage, I was in grad school, so we agreed on a set amount I can use for myself every month that comes from his paycheck. And yeah, it’s a compromise. Our only standing bank payment, aside from mortgage, is payments for his new truck that he got a month ago... which we have discussed purchasing for like 6 months. For me, it works to be financially transparent with my husband and him the same.

but then, we’re getting OT! Lol. But yes, finances wasn’t on my radar until I attended CFO. It’s just a good thing that my husband doesn’t shy away from talks of money.
