How soon to request Doctor Letter for Medical?

Hi All,

I received NOA2 this week and wanted to begin gathering required documents for the medical. I sorted my vaccinations in January and requested a patient summary at the same time to look over my notes, where I noticed it included references to counselling that I'd received on the NHS from 2005.

I am aware I will need to get a GP letter to satisfy the medical staff at Knightsbridge that I  am not a harm to myself or others, but wondered if I should hold off doing this for now so that the letter will be dated closer to the medical appointment (which I hope I'll be ready for in July)?

My eagerness to begin gathering this information now is that I know it can often be difficult getting information from your GP surgery in a short period of time, but I do wonder if getting a letter written several months in advance will prove problematic down the line.

Hey!

I got my letter for my GP as well as the medical summary in the middle of April 2017 and due to a family emergency I had to reschedule my medical to the end of June, rather than the start of May. I had absolutely no issues using the letter from April, to satisfy Knightsbridge about anxiety medication that I take! :) Hopefully this helps you! Good Luck :)

I can't see any problems with getting it now.

I have my medical on 11th May and got my letter at the beginning of March, as I am no longer under treatment for my depression, I cannot see any issue with this.

Now that you are at NVC the process speeds up considerably.

Good luck.

Thanks for the info, and best of luck with the medical!
