Hello everyone! I was wondering if anyone can give me opinions. So, I was given a ticket for urinating in public two years ago and payed it. It was $489 dollars from what I recall. Now, I am in  the process of filing Form I-129F as the Petitioner,  and there is this question:

Have you ever been arrested, cited, charged, indicted, convicted, fined, or imprisoned for breaking or violating any law or ordinance in any country excluding traffic violations (unless a traffic violation was alcohol or drug related or involved a fined of $500 or more)?

I payed the summons, but should I disclosed this? I understand it is a misdemeanor. If I do not disclosed it, will it jeopardize my petition? It did violate a city ordinance but it is a traffic ticket, not more then $500. Or is it a criminal offense?
Thanks everyone for your thought. Anxious from NJ.

People get tickets for fishing without a license or drinking in public which does not affect their criminal record it's basically like a slap on the hand no no ticket such as a traffic violation..I dont think its important in this process but maybe someone else knows for sure.

No worries maybe just disclose it to be on the safe side but it wont have any effect later down the road. Hopefully someone else with the same situation posts on here.

If you are the petitioner, it may not affect your chances, but you where cited, meaning somewhere there is a record of you having a misdameanor. The easiest way to fingd out is to go to public records in the courthouse you had to pay the fine and check. If  it is not on record, which i doubt it...you wouldn't have to mention it

You don't have to report it or put it on the I-129F

I have gotten DWI, Fighting in public. I have been on trail before for burglary of a coin operated machine (which I was railroaded by the Dallas Police Department and my lawyer got the case thrown out of court about 10 minutes into my trail. , I never disclosed any of that stuff.

I have 3 approved K1's visa.

The instructions are clear on what you need to disclose.

Just when you think you have TDS eradicate,  a new case shows up.

I'd say it should be listed. It was a citation, and doesn't sound like a traffic offense to me, which meets the criteria stated to disclose it. It won't hurt your petition (and they likely will already know since they run background checks).
