STOCKHOLM — Sweden may be known for its popular music, IKEA and a generous welfare state. It is also increasingly associated with a rising number of Islamic State recruits, bombings and hand grenade attacks.

In a period of two weeks earlier this year, five explosions took place in the country. It’s not unusual these days — Swedes have grown accustomed to headlines of violent crime, witness intimidation and gangland executions. In a country long renowned for its safety, voters cite “law and order” as the most important issue ahead of the general election in September.

Sounds like they need to curtail their gun control laws to bring murder rates in line with the US.

This is what happens when a country has stupid soft politicians who ways "let's give an apartment and a job to returning ISIS fighters". And people wonder why the nazi party in Sweden is gaining more and more support each day. And this year is election year in Sweden so it's going to be very interesting to see how that ends.

People think that gun control means no civilians get to have guns. Plenty of hunters with hunting rifles in their homes. We just have strict rules about how you should store it and you have to do a test showing you can actually use it. We just don't go crazy and start killing people like the guy in Tennessee this morning.

Sad what is happening, but self inflicted.

I wonder if the average age of immigrants is lower than the general swedish population, could this perhaps make immigrants appear more violent, than native born Swedes?

I guess I should have said Nazi/racist party. Their main focus is to stop the stream of immigrants into the country. The Jews are worried but not fleeing. When the nazis have had rallies they've been pushed away because the majority of people doesn't want them on our streets It's not like here where the leader of the country is supporting them. Now that we have generations around the world who no longer remember/know anything about the holocaust I think it's going to get worse.

Hopefully they won't win. But if they win Sweden would have a racist nazi Prime minister. I'm a little rusty on Swedish politics but basically the Swedish system has 8 political parties and then depending on how well they do in the election they get a certain amount of the 349 seats in the Riksdagen (the national legislature and the supreme decision-making body of Sweden). So even if the Nazi/racist party come up with crazy ideas they still need a majority vote in Riksdagen for them to get anything through.

My hope is that people are going to see that other, more sensible political parties, are realizing that they have taken too many foreigners in and that we need to a) make sure that the ones in Sweden gets integrated as soon as possible (in 2017 it had taken 8 years for half of the immigrants to get a job)  and b) faster deportation of people who has been denied asylum and c) have permanent residency as a goal with stricter regulations rather than temporary residency.

Is that going to fix the hand grenades etc? No. Is this a new problem? No, we've had issues down in Malmo for many many years and now it's also popping up in other areas. Malmö has an area called Rosengård where there's a lot of immigrants and a lot criminals. We need to have a police force that isn't treated like ####### by politicians and not paid enough. Politicians want more cops and no one wants to be a cop because they don't earn enough and cops are quitting.

We have idiotic "asylum seekers" who lie about their age to be accepted as unaccompanied minor and gets into the country. These idiots also have apparently never seen women before because as soon as they see a woman showing off some skint they can't stop raping and inappropriately touch them.

Why do they do this? Who knows. Lots of them have grown up in constant violence. I listened to an audio book by Noah Galloway an American soldier who lost an arm and a leg as his Humvee went over an IED. He talked about how he, and lots of Americans would harass and beat Iraqi's for no reason just because they were angry and frustrated. Noah admitted to punching a man in the face with the man's young son next to him. What is that young man doing today? Probably seeking revenge for all the ####### we put them through. And then we got the ####### that has been going on in Syria for several years now.

Many of them come from situations where either their own leaders have tried to kill them off or foreign forces have abused them. Are we really that surprised that this ####### is happening now? Plus, on top of that, we've got ISIS trying to recruit people for their insane .
