Filing N 400 NATURALIZATION with approved N 470?

Dear all,

I am very confused about something.....if you have an approved n 470(which preserve your continue residency if you are abroad) when filing n 400 for naturalization,when they ask you how many days you have been outside the US what you have to write if you have an approved n 470?

 

How do they know that you have an approved n 470 (to preserve residency) ?
