Am I still exempt from SSN taxes while AOS is pending?

I came to the United States in September 2013 as F1 student. In June 2017 I graduated and received my OPT EAD card in August 2017 (valid till August 2018). For 2017 I was exempt from SSN taxes and IRS refunded me everything that was withheld by my employer. Since the beginning of 2018 my employer stopped withholding SSN taxes from me. In April 2018 I applied for the green card (married US citizen). While my AOS is pending I am currently still working on my OPT EAD. When my employer should start withholding SSN taxes from me? Now, or once I get new EAD card, or when I get a green card. P.S. I went to my home country every summer vacation and winter so counting the whole 2018 I still will not be in the United States for whole 5 years (presence test) by the end of it. And I am assuming I am not going to receive green card until 2019. Thank you!
