Hello VJ

Can I still working with my extension letter? Does HR need a copy of it? Can I still use my SSN who shows : Valid for work only with DHS authorization ?

Pleas help me to find some answers

  1. You don't need to provide evidence of being permitted to work until they ask for it. You are permitted to work (unless your LPR status gets terminated at some point...which is a fairly lengthy process).
  2. The extension letter + green card + SS card should be sufficient.
  3. You may want to obtain an unrestricted SS card from the SSA....you can do this at any point after getting your first green card. Once you have that, your driver's license/state ID + SS card should be sufficient evidence for authorization to work.
