it's a uk thing. i'll stick with maximum rock and roll's take and agree that racists and nazis should be no platformed, if said platform doesn't want to support racists and nazis. not sure what racists and nazis have to do with these tweets and the progressive response to barbara bush.

Germaine Greer is a Nazi?

I don't think anyone here is saying that they don't think the woman has a right to say what she thinks. No one here (I'm assuming but I'm fairly confident) thinks the government should silence her.

The First Amendment doesn't say anything about other people liking what you say. We, as fellow citizens, are allowed to express our displeasure with the inconsiderate, crude, and disrespectful way she is talking about someone who just passed away and, politics aside, was a major figure in the US.

So she's allowed to say what she wants, but I'm also allowed to call her an ...the hole at the bottom of your tush.

I guess I wasn't clear; if you look at the people responding on her twitter feed, many are calling for her to be fired. She works for the state of California and she made these comments as a private citizen, so she is allowed to voice that opinion. Of course we don't have to like it or agree with it.

Personally, I think when someone dies, it's one of those times that if you can't think of something good to say, you really shouldn't say anything at all. I really don't like the comment that she made at this time, and to me it's always something that reflects poorly on the person who says it. However she does have the right to say it, and in this case, she shouldn't be facing losing her job over it.

I did not now there were classifications.

Yes, this.

Even if someone asks directly, you can say "I'm still composing my thoughts" or "her family will really miss her" or "she lived a long life."

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

While I agree she certainly has a right to say whatever she wants, and quite frankly I am glad she is out there saying what she is saying, I think professionally there should be consequences.  I remember those that lean left here being somewhat gleeful of people losing their jobs over protests such as Charlottesville or others.

I do find it rather hypocritical that this professor goes on her rant, then sets her Twitter to private, I want her to keep talking for the extreme left.

white supremacists and nazis should lose their jobs if their employers don't want such filth representing them. i don't consider a person tweeting offensive opinions about former first ladies and their former president children to be on par with being a proud racist/supporting ethnic cleansing. big big difference.

The thread celebrating Barbara Bushes life? 5 posts.

The thread ratholing the private rantings of one person who never met her.. 23 posts.

Pretty much sums up our priorities.

This professor is getting what she wants, people to listen to her.

Not much difference, hard left hard right, pretty much the same.

You may not consider it, but possibly the employer does, and this professor's filth was no less than that of the people you say should lose their jobs.  Personally, I hope she loses her job, but I also hope she keeps speaking for the extreme left, it will do them a lot of good.

I would not go that far but I would hope the College is addressing students concerns who would otherwise have to be taught by her and are providing alternatives.

I am amazed that this intolerant professor is allowed to teach students.

Intolerance is intolerance plain and simple.
