Do the correct forms yourself now, use the visajourney guides. When it comes back you will be ready.

If you still want to use the lawyer just give them the corrected and completed forms, and hand them your wallet for not doing anything helpful.

Many of my friends are lawyers, they suck.

Hi VJ community,

My lawyer used a I-129f form from 2016.  I’m certain it will be rejected but how long will it take to get back to my lawyer?  We sent it out in 4/6.  The lawyer is saying it should be back this week... is that unrealistic?  I didn’t get anything via email or text and my credit card wasn’t charged as of yet.

Thanks in advance for your attention.

Unless you have multiple divorces or multiple previous petitions, I'd be doing away with the lawyer and requesting a refund for what you've paid so far.

For a straightforward case there's really no reason to not do it yourself and your post has pointed out why - the vast majority of lawyers have NO idea of the immigration process and you'll have a much better time with advice from people in this forum than paying yet more money for a do-over on them filing a form for you.

What does your credit card have to do with anything?

Sorry, but it looks like you have been scammed.

You can pay for most forms, including the I-129F, via credit card now. They added this a couple months back.

UPDATE: If anyone is wondering for future, We mailed the wrong form out 4/6, FedEx delivered 4/8, and we got the package rejected and returned today, 4/19.  So about 11 days we received the returned package.  I did not get a rejection email or letter or anything besides what was in the returned package (I797).  We will be sending it out again tomorrow.  I triple checked everything myself.  Thank you everyone for your comments and I hope this helps someone in the future.
