Immigration officer said we could not travel frok El Paso to Juarez

Hello, 

 

First time here on this site and knew I would get help from all of you here who are going through the same thing. So we recently received our appointment letter for our Juarez appointment. So we scheduled our biometrics, physical, booked our hotel and flight (which is scheduled from LAX to El Paso airport). 

 

We then went to check in with our immigration officer per his request to show

him our airline tickets to prove we have booked a flight and  he said we could not fly from LAX to El Paso as this was not proof enough that we were leaving the country. 

 

We then explained our plan to him which is to fly from LAX to El Paso airport and take a taxi from el paso to our hotel in Ciudad Juarez. We felt this was the safest most affordable way to get to Juarez. But he still insisted that we need to fly into a Mexican airport. 

 

We were never informed by a judge or our immigration officer that we could not go to Juarez via El Paso. Has anyone else heard of this? Is this something they can do to us?

 

We even suggested calling the biometrics place and physical place as they are both scheduled as soon as 8am after the day we arrive in Juarez to prove that we are there. But he said that was not proof enough.
