Good afternoon everyone,

I want to start by saying I love this forum! So many of us are experiencing the same situation and thar gives me a little peace of mind.

So a little about me, I have just filed my N400 application with a pending i-751. My i-751 has been pending exactly 1 year today. I am currently based in Los Angeles and paper filed the N400 application as my lawyer suggested. My understanding is that I will be assigned to the LA office for adjudication. If this is true, I notice that the wait times at this office are 7-9 months. With that being said, I will be moving in July 2018 to Chino, CA which will require my case to be transferred to the San Bernardino office. From my research, this office moves much quicker (3-5 months). I guess I am curious how this will work, what delays will I experience from the office transfer and will I likely see my case move quicker after doing the address change as it will be transferred to a less back logged office? Or will the address change itself wipe out any time savings that I might have seen.

Never changed address mid application before so it makes me a little anxious. Any advice on the up and coming stages would be great!

thanks so much.

May I ask.....

Why the rush? Can you not just file in july and save just a little hastle?

Great question. The reason I chose to file now is we will likely be relocating at the beginning of next year to Tennessee. And when we do that, if the file is still pending (which it might be if the processing times are not accurate), we would then have to deal with the 3 month residency requirement and the processing times in the local service centers in that state which are much longer than California so it would take a long time to complete the process. By filing now, as long as everything goes according to plan, we should be done with the process by the time we plan on moving in February 2019. Also, I have heard that filing N400 may help adjudicate the I-751 a little sooner.
