Hello all:)

My girlfriend and I have decided to get married. We met and are currently in New Zealand living and working together she is French and I am from the US.

We are ready to start the petition and gather all of our info and send it on its way. My question is, is it ok to send our petition form I-129F while we are not in our countries?

We want to limit the amount of time for us to be apart and feel starting now would do that. We each have family back in our countries who could receive mail and we will be in France in July.

Hope you can help:)

Have you looked into the spouse visa as well? It might be a better option for you. Or it might not.

The post above is sooooooo right at this moment. I would go for spousal if I did it again.

Thank you,

We just looked into the Spousal visa and now we are planning to go for that one. We have to push our marriage ahead by a large amount of time, but it will save us time and money in the end.

Good luck!
