Maybe related question: Is it possible to leave the US, return before the 6 month mark, then leave again, and do it again? Do they care if you leave too much for too long? Or as long as you don't leave longer than 6 months they don't care?

 

I was kinda planning on doing that for personal reasons, but I'm not sure how much trouble I could get in doing that.

 

What would happen if I leave by land (at the south border) without reporting my departure? Will they know somehow that I left for a long period of time?

As a GC holder, you MUST live in the US. It must be tyoir primary residence. If you don't live in the US for a long time without any major reasons (health, etc), you don't deserve a GC. Give it to others who really want to reside in the US. Only US citizens can live outside of US as long as they want.

 

You will definitely be in troubles by doing so, and will be denied entry, and your GC will be discontinued.

 

Don't try to be smarter than CBP, it will bite you very hard.

They will. Just font ask me how but they will. You're not the first person in the world who wants to do this. Search online for similar cases.

Please can we go back to my topic?

 

Going back to the us with a green card two days before my one year outside the US, can give me trouble of course,but legally I m not over the one year so I don't need to ask a visa to the embassy ,because they can give to you only if I am over a year but I will be back two days before so legally I am in the year of time.

 

am I right?

I'm pretty sure your question has been answered already, yes you can come back...and since it was for family problems then I don't see an issue..but it's at the sole discretion of the Border Officer who will look at your paperwork and green card once you enter the US....so...it DEPENDS on what they do at the POE...what don't you understand about the randomness of the officers decision he makes? Someone telling you their experience may have NO bearing on what will happen to you. Just leave the 4 or 2  days prior and see how it goes. NO one can give you an exact answer.

So June 6 2017 is when I left,

definetely I have To come back before june 6. I will be in the US for sure June 4.

ONE MORE QUESTION-

I will be back in june....and if I need to travel again but going back in 5 months...do I still need to get a reentry permit?

I am not going to be over the year so...why should I need a reentry permit?
