He knows exactly what he's done. Every shooting or event in the world is 'fake' to him, and must be wrapped up into a string of outlandish claims. This is no different.

it's not like there's just one quote. he does a radio show talking about pretty much nothing but conspiracy. here's one example:

If that's a real quote not taken out of context that is a messed up thing to say. When I get home from work I'm gonna try to find the video from that date and listen for myself. It seems hard to believe someone would say such a thing but maybe this Jones guy did say that.

if you know anything at all about jones and his brand of conspiracy theory, it's not at all hard to believe. it's most certainly in context.

i don't have a fascination with alex jones. it surprises me that anyone would give him the benefit of the doubt. every mass shooting is a false flag to alex.

Seriously man we may have very big differences of opinions on a lot of things, and may like very different people in general....but I really would hope almost everyone here on these forums would see eye to eye about Alex Jones. He is a messed up individual. 

 

Though I do have to wonder - What "proper context" would you expect to find that would make that quote okay? Other than a sentence right before where he says "And now I'm going to tell a lie." or something similar I don't really see what context would excuse it. I totally understand you wanting to listen for yourself (I'm that way as well) just wondering what you're expecting.

I know nothing about Alex Jones other than what I am being told here. I'm sure if everyone is in agreement on this it is accurate. I just like to verify for myself.

The only two I can think of is "hey I'm gonna say something ridiculous inappropriate right now and not something I believe...here it goes." Or "hey I heard someone else say this once..." But even then repeating it wouldn't be appropriate either probably, without making it clear you don't agree.

I put the out of context part in because as unlikely as it seems I have seen quotes almost as bad as that but when put in context it is something totally different. Also sometimes hearing someone say something versus reading the quote can also put it in a different context. I am not at all implying that is the case here. Like I said I can be reasonably sure this is legitimate since basically everyone here seems to agree on it. I am still going to listen to the audio because a part of me wants to believe no one would say something like that. I'm a little busy with the baby at the moment so I can't get on my computer so maybe later I will look into it more.

Absolutely not out of context, and yes, it is messed up. I quoted it verbatim, and forced myself to once again listen to the audio/video of Jan 2015 to ensure that it was the correct one. But that was just one of many horrible things he has said regarding it.

 

The context of the quote is basically in response to a caller, that is already convinced that the attack on the school and murder of the children is all faked. The caller rambles on a variety of subjects discussed on the radio show (of which I believe Ron Paul was on a segment before), and Jones agrees with him along the way, because in the previous year he had already peddled to his followers that it was all faked, that the kids were perfectly alive, and everyone was an actor. And it's then that he goes into a rant and concludes his thoughts on Sandy Hook with the quoted statement. One of his previous shows, entitled ''Sandy Hook Vampires Exposed'' (and several 'hoax' video 'docu-dramas) touted his claims before that point. That video also still exists and some of his followers began a campaign to physically harass, stalk, and threaten several families which resulted in jail time for one notable figure and the start of many lawsuits. This is the same thing he does every single time. He's done it to soldiers, officers, families, kids, survivors of horrific events. He doesn't care.
