If there are similar cases that CNN is responsible for then by all means those people can sue CNN for defamation. We can't force them to sue, it has to be the people who are affected choosing to do so.

I'm perfectly calm cyber. We both agree he is a con artist. To me there is no 10% decent in what he says. He doesn't actually hold an opinion though, to me it is 100% con-artistry stuff. That is an abuse of free speech, because he's only saying stuff in the way a con artist or cult leader does, he's preying on the gullible for profit. His words are not actually opinions that he himself holds. He knows it is all untrue. It is defamatory speech, in which not all aspects the 1st protects. There wasn't anything inconsistent in Sandy Hook. And the parents had the right to sue whomever they wanted to, whether they were successful or not. You may not personally like it, but that is genuinely their sincerely held beliefs, opinion, and free speech. Jones pretends he has those things, when he does not on any of those subjects.

 

CNN is a news organization, it has some skewing, as many news organizations do. You can debate how accurate their reporting is, but most of the complaints about news organizations these days are not their actual journalism if one carefully examines their articles, but the non-journalist tv personalities that blur those lines. Jones is not a news organization. He is as we've said a con artist. He is not right or left. He is an outright liar. You've said that lies are spouted on the 'left', but I can also find you plenty being spouted on the 'right' on a daily basis. You say it's only okay if the left has done it... but the right has made a huge media empire in different areas and brought a rise to various non-journalist talking head personalities for years now. If anything there are groups on both that do it. If one upsets you, then it doesn't fit with your skewing.

The outrage of some people on here that say CNN lies all the time is just simply not true. They always have both Republicans and Democrats on their shows. I'm afraid they've been drinking the Fat Orange Nixon cool aid because they don't look at facts but rather the ideaology.

One thing that is great is that if a news organization is found to be making up stories, they get an award.  I believe it is called the Dan Rather award.
