Hello everyone on VisaJourney

I have tried to look up my specific case and get some answers but did not come up with any conclusions.

I am working using rapidvisa service in Manila, and my situation is getting close to the interview date (3 weeks from now).

During the process, I've gathered all the documents necessary... but have one concern in regards to my income.

I am self-employed and have been since early 2016.

In the affidavit of support, it asks for 3 years transcripts, 6-9 months of bank statements, and a self-employment letter.

Although I now have coming in around 3K per month since Nov of last year and about 12K in total cash in all my accounts... the transcripts concern me and here's why.

IRS transcripts:

  • Year 2014 was around 20K
  • Year 2015 was around 28K
  • Year 2016 was around 56K
  • Year 2017 was around 8k

In 2017 I was living on my savings and traveling with my fiance from country to country, that's the only reason why it was very low. I've been with her for 95% of the year in 2017 and to this date, live with her in 2018. Supporting her financially while living in Metro-Manila.

I know the income threshold is around 17K gross, but the 2017 year scares me as to them thinking that I don't make enough money... but in reality I do, I just took the year off.

Today, I am earning income (since November of last year) when I started working again. I have consistent deposits coming in totaling out to 2K-3K per month (and going up). This April I should clear 5K.

I GREATLY appreciate you all for taking the time and reading my story.

John-

I thought PI were not interested in the I 134.

I 864 is basically a 2 fold requirement, you have filed taxes and currently meet the income requirements.

PS We have had a number of members have major issues with RapidVisa, hopefully you will be OK but check and double check.

I spoke with RapidVisa about this and they advised that if you can provide other tax transcripts making above poverty level, (2015, 2016) and a letter from your current employer and/or proof that your projected income will be greater than 17k for 2018, you'll be ok.

Wow

Point Proven

From what I understand, for the K1 affidavit of support which I have filled out as the I-134 says gotta meet the 100% of poverty level or above (so around 17K+) and once my fiance is in the USA, I must meet 125% of the poverty level (which should be around 20-21K or so).

I sense RapidVisa might be responsible for some delayed/never filed adjustment of statuses due to this.

3/2/18  E-filed N-400 under 5 year rule

3/26/18 Biometrics

7/2019-12/2019 (Yes, 16- 21 months) Estimated time to interview MSP office.

That is how the game worked ten years ago at US Embassy in Manila

I have been self employed for many years and had taken off work for about 2 years to travel, when it came time to bring in support paperwork (this is back when they required a 1-134) I simply wrote a letter stating I was self employed and had a projected income of xxxxxxx amount for year 2008.  I put it on letter head and signed it, worked like a charm.

Just when you think you have TDS eradicate,  a new case shows up.
