I751 Rejected!

Hey everyone,

 

My wife is here on a CR1. Over a month ago I filed here I751 condition removal form. I just got a rejection package saying incorrect or incomplete guarantee amount. It says the petition cannot be completed until it is corrected. Thing is her Greencard expired a couple days ago.

 

#1 - What does Incorrect or Incomplete Guarentee amount mean?

#2 - Her Greencard is expired!

It means you sent the wrong fee.

I wrote a check for $595 and one for $85 to US Department of Homeland Security..

The only thing I can think of is that I wrote the checks to US Department of Homeland Security instead of Department of Homeland Security.. Both checks go to the same place. Right? In the memo I added Filing Fee to one and Biometric data to the other one..

US Department of Homeland Security is correct. I sent one check for the total amount of $680 but I don't believe that's required although someone else may know different. The only other thing I can think of would be that maybe your bank returned it for some reason? Have you checked to see if it tried to clear your bank account at all?

Maybe they only saw the first one and rejected it. Normally you should put both the filing fee and biometrics fee in one check.

 

You can refile, and attach a copy of the rejection notice as evidence that you tried to file on time...that should be sufficient to show good cause for late filing.

OK, I am an idiot. I wrote the check wrong. I do not write many checks these days. I had the amount write in the number area but in the section where you actually write the amount I had Five Hundred Dollars and Not Five Hundred Ninety Five..

 

That must be the reason.. Does this mean that the fee was the only thing wrong with the application? I mean they didn't reject anything else so once they get the amount settled we are good?

It says to include the proper amount and resubmit everything which they sent back to me stapled together.

 

Thanks everyone.. This whole thing has been so stressful. It shows they received the application on the 20th of March or I guess that is when someone actually looked at it because they received it earlier than that. My wife's visa expired a couple days ago so we have been waiting and waiting.. cant wait to be done with this..

Yup, that'll do it.

 

Once they saw a wrong fee, they were likely to reject it right there and not really look at anything else. Do another glance through the packet to make sure it's all set just in case, but you're probably fine.

They added a couple numbers with red marker that I didn't have on the first part but that's it. Everything else looks fine. I will send 2 new checks and the entire package out tomorrow with fingers crossed.

You can make one check for the total amount $680 and write on the memo area "form I-751 + biometric fee". Make the check  payable to:

U.S. Department of Homeland Security, (not "USDHS" or "DHS").  You should be fine this time.

Hello,  I Apply I -751 for remove condition 22 August 2016 and still don’t have approve. I was call immigration customer service, and they told me, my case on hold, they do security check. Anybody know how long is take to do security check? It’s very stressful:(

I wrote 2 checks and sent back the package before I heard from anyone here. They received the package on the 20th and they still have not cashed the checks! I emailed and they told me in a copy and paste that they have no record of it.

 

I can verify through certified mail that they received it and signed for it.

 

We are getting really nervous and I do not know what to do.
