Amazon warehouse workers pee into bottles because they are scared of being punished for taking a comfort break

I used to have a sales tax license do not know but may get it back, that allowed me membership of the big wholesalers.

Currently use Costco a lot for stuff that delivery makes no sense.

I have something coming from Home Depot today, they offered free shipping and as my sales tax is a lot less here than say Denver it is a win win.

Amazon sold stuff they charge local sales tax, often others who sell on Amazon do not, you are supposed to pay the tax in your annual returns but do not know anybody who does.

Oh the sales tax issue. You guys have just opened a can of worms here. There is kind of a legal gray area with state sales taxes that pending legislation should fix. As of right now Amazon collects sales taxes for their items they sell and tries to argue third party sellers are responsible for filing for sales tax lisences in every state and keeping track of it all themselves. My tax attorney says I'm only responsible for my state and Amazon is responsible for all other states. That seems to be the general consensus among tax professionals that specialize in ecommerce. Some sellers to be extra cautious do collect and file for every state. A couple states (can't remember which ones off hand) recently passed legislation putting the responsibility on Amazon. Many believe it is a matter of time before we have federal legislation that says the same thing.

That is exactly what we as third party sellers have to do. To make it worse if we want to resell the item we have to pay shipping fees to Amazon to get it back so we can inspect it then pay shipping fees to send it back to Amazon. Amazon claims they inspect the item for you but I have been burned on that a few times so I prefer to inspect it myself.

Order from MD, get charged. Send it to location in DE tax free. I've only done this once mind you. I needed a couple cheap items extremely quick and was furious at how much they were not only going to charge to ship it out but how much tax was added on (don't know if it was a glitch but I didn't think the math added up). Could choose to ship it to hubby's office or the lockbox tax free. But there's a lot of times we've simply decided to just travel to DE and pick up whatever we needed there, found it generally cheaper and tax free. Hubby dragged me out of the house on Thanksgiving just so we could go stand at the MS store and get stuff much cheaper than Amazon was offering and tax free. I've also found that these days Walmart can not only ship stuff out either for free or cheaper, and much faster than Amazon. It's times like that I don't mind the sales tax if it's that fast and cheap. I've ordered a lot of furnishings from them like that... they got it here within two days, but with Amazon I'd still be waiting.
