Inside the newsroom and departments that work closely with it, many legacy jobs have been eliminated over the past few years to make room for an entirely new class of employees. These newcomers include Web-trends reporters and community editors and social-media strategists; product people and visualization specialists and audience-engagement gurus; engineers and audio experts and data scientists and various other positions that didn’t used to exist. The Times also has been hiring more writers and editors from outside its traditional talent channels. (“Other relatively similar newspaper companies,” in Kahn’s words, “that did relatively similar things.”) That means the paper is now crawling with journalists who came from some of the same upstart digital publications the Times now counts as competitors. The result is an increasingly diverse and varied organization that suddenly encompasses lots of people who didn’t come up in old-school journalism environments like the Times, or people who are at least more inclined to challenge some of the newspaper’s entrenched customs in an era where it increasingly feels like the world has been turned on its head and the old rules no longer apply.

I have noticed a similar trend with my local rag, Denver Post. I has become more and more Woke, trouble is a fairly large part of its audience has not appreciated the change and no longer buy, online or print, now seems on the verge of going bust.

The Houston Chronicle (which would be an insult to any dead fish that got wrapped in it) is merely a regurgitation of the WaPo, NYTimes, and San Antonio Express-News.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

It's the same way with the El Segundo Times as well, sorry the LA Times that isn't based in LA anymore. They try to love everything about being Woke, Illegals,  Homeless, and the Dems. All the while leaving out a majority of the rest of population of the LA Metro, then they wonder why their subscriber base is gone down. They had a guy in the store trying to sell subscriptions to the LA Times and was offering free papers so I stopped by and got a paper, and he started asking me about getting a subscription. I promptly told him that "I will not buy a subscription because of the politics of the paper, I will be happy to get it for free but I will never pay for something so crappy".

They do not call it bias....

As @Boiler said they do not call it bias at all they just call it reporting about "Intolerance". What was funny is the LA Times did not what to say/print about the homeless situation anymore in Orange County after a Supervisor meeting went awry. They(LA Times) usually blame everything on Republicans and White people but this time it was a hundreds of Chinese Immigrants that came out in opposition of a homeless center where they live in Irvine.

http://www.latimes.com/local/lanow/la-me-homeless-asians-20180401-story.html

In fighting homeless camp, Irvine's Asians win, but at a cost

One by one, the buses pulled up to the Orange County Hall of Administration last week carrying posters with messages such as "No Tent City" and "No Homeless in Irvine."

Many of the hundreds on board were immigrants, and this would be their first experience joining a political protest. A week earlier, county officials announced that they were considering placing emergency homeless shelters in Irvine as well as in Laguna Niguel and in Huntington Beach. All three cities immediately fought the plan, but the opposition was most fierce in Irvine. Many of the loudest voices in the movement to block the shelter plan were Chinese Americans who came together through social media apps and various community groups. They were joined by immigrants from South Korea, India, Mexico and the Middle East, along with some whites.

It was a big political victory for the diverse opposition from Irvine. But it also came at a price, with some accusing the residents of intolerance and simply wanting to keep the homeless out of their own cities without offering an alternative solution

I know, they consider anyone that doesn't share their positions as wrong and subject to silence.

Best fire starter in any weather, tampons (new) soaked in gasoline.
