Hi,

Hoping to clear up some confusion RE. police cert in the UK.

I have my Interview scheduled for the 4th May and hold a ACRO from June 2017. I seem to be getting conflicting advice RE. how current the ACRO needs to be at the time of the interview...

I have a valid ACRO from the last 12 months (12 months in June 18) which i have read is valid for the interview, however, https://uk.usembassy.gov/visas/family-immigration/medical-examination/ is stating within the last 6 months?

Can someone please help and confirm whether i need to renew the ACRO or i can use the one i already hold?

Many Thanks

Ryan

The London Embassy is the definitive authority on what they will or will not find acceptable.  When in doubt, I would trust the website versus something that "I read."

YMMV

Yep, it's 6 months for the medical but 12 months for the interview. You need a new one.

The embassy accepts a police certificate as long as it it less than 12 months old.

Anything that Knightsbridge clinic asks for is their personal choice, not the Visa Unit. They choose to ask for a police certificate to help them with the mental health portion of the exam which covers harmful behaviors, alcohol, and drugs. An incident on the police certificate involving drugs or alcohol would give them the clue they need to investigate further concerning abuse or addiction.

You could call up the clinic and discuss it, or show up without it and tell them 12 months is good enough for the US government's London consulate and talk your way past it, or spend the money to repeat.

I will give them a call tomorrow. Thank you.

Personally I would prefer to ask for forgiveness rather than permission.

I'll take #2 option for the win. 😂😜

Their website does does not specify 6 months.http://www.visamedicals.co.uk/us-bring.htm

So what told you 6 months?

❓❓❓I can't find 6 months.

Note: The police certificate must list all names and aliases by which you have ever been known, e.g. maiden name, alternative spellings of names used on legal documents etc. UK police certificates are valid for 12 months only.
