The social media screening process is still under consideration by the US government, to the best of my knowledge. They haven't made it a requirement yet, so you shouldn't worry. Even if they do, they can't require applicants to have five years of social media history to provide. The following quote is from a BBC article about this posted on 31 March 2018, with the link below:

"What's the current stance on requesting social media?

Under rules brought in last May, officials were told to seek people's social media handles only if they felt "that such information is required to confirm identity or conduct more rigorous national security vetting", a state department official said at the time."

There’s recent news on this front.

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2018-03-29/us-to-seek-social-media-details-from-all-visa-applicants

In documents to be published in Friday's Federal Register, the department said it wants the public to comment on the proposed new requirements, which will affect nearly 15 million foreigners who apply for visas to enter the U.S. each year. Previously, social media, email and phone number histories were only sought from applicants identified for extra scrutiny, such as those who have traveled to areas controlled by terrorist organizations. ....

The new rules would apply to virtually all applicants for immigrant and non-immigrant visas...

In addition to their social media histories, visa applicants will be asked for five years of previously used telephone numbers, email addresses, international travel and deportation status, as well as whether any family members have been involved in terrorist activities.

Only applicants for certain diplomatic and official visa types may be exempted from the requirements...”

Comment period is 60 days from publication.

Might be easiest to apply for a visa before that 60 days is up.

Edit: your article link does actually mention the gist of the above....you just didn’t quote any of that bit? I know it’s not yet a requirement, but this is a serious step towards it,  not just another impetuous tweet.
