Few questions regarding form i-864

Part 5 is unclear to me, specifically item number 3. "if you are currently married, enter 1 for your spouse". When I used to write 1 on this one it made the household size to 3. We are only 2. The wife that's sponsoring the immigrant husband. Reading around here it says to put 0 there in this case. However, I've edited this document quite a few times, now I can even write 1 and it doesn't change from 2. I'm afraid the documment is bugging somehow. I did edit it back and forth on mac and windows and now when opening it in windows with adobe reader the bottom of the page doesn't show the barcode type thing, instead it shows the actual letters that was input in the text boxes, like a summary. I'm thinking to start over with the document.
 

In any case, what do I need to write in part 5, item 3? 

 

Moving to Part 6, the sponsor fullfills the income requirement. We shouldn't write the spouse at all in this section correct? So leave blank after item number 2.

If you are completing the I-864 for your spouse, then your spouse is already counted in the question #1 (copied from Part 3, #29). The instructions directly next to this section state: "NOTE: Do not count any member of your household more than once."

As such, you would put 0 for #3 if the reason you are filling out the I-864 is to sponsor your spouse. They've already been counted.

 

For part 6 this would only be the sponsor's employment and income. If you are not using a household member's income for the I-864, then the Person 1-4 fields can be left blank. You do not have to use their income (and they must meet a few requirements if you did want to use it anyway).

For some reason, even though I put "1" in Question 29, it will not come up on the following page in Part 5. It won't let me change the household size to more than one, even though it should be 2.

Do we put 0 in these boxes or just leave them blank?

I generally prefer to put a 0 to affirm that there really is 0 and it wasn't just skipped by accident.
