Thank you rusty72, your clarification has been very much appreciated. I will definitely go for the online application. Hopefully, my situation (absence of 8 months at the beginning of my continuos residency) will allow me to go through the interview without prorblem as I will explain it with all honesty.

Hello guys, I am resuming this thread as I would like to know whether it is available or not a list of items that will be required during the application process online.

I am aware that each case is different and the list will vary according to the specific status but I guess there must be items that will be asked no matter what the personal situation is.

I am planning on starting the application in a few hours and would like to come prepared in order to avoid the possibility of getting stuck at the beginning of the application.

Thanks a lot in advance for your help!

Don't sweat it as the form will tell you exactly what they want from you based on your circumstances.  You can toggle between the various sections and you can edit it as many times as you like before submitting and each time you exit it will re-save the form (for 30 days I think).  So just create an account and start filling it out at your own pace and give them what they ask for.

Completed my wife's packet online.  As stated many times on this thread, the online form holds your hand through the whole process, including when you get to adding evidence.  "Insert marriage certificate here..."  No passport photo.  I am about to hit the send button on it, but stopped here just to check one point about the tax evidence.  And I won't have to use USPS tracking to follow it for the next few days.

Thank you all guys for your contribution to this thread.

Yesterday I started filling the application online but I had a very short time available as I am using my computer/scanner at work and had to leave at some point.

I was able to scan green card, certificate of marriage (in case I will need it, although my permanent residency is not based on US citizen marriage) and entry all the addresses where I lived in the last 5 years.

At this point I have a question: is it of crucial importance to entry the exact day I moved to that specific address and then when I moved out?

In the last 5 years I changed 5 addresses and I found very difficult to remember (even using email to help me out) the exact day.

I was able to identify the week in which I moved in/out but not the day and I don’t think I’ll find the tenancy agreement for all of those addresses.

Do you think that may constitute a problem?

Thanks a lot in advance!

Thank you thedarkelf for you contribution. To be honest, I don’t remember filing any form when I was moving to a different address (probably I did it only once, at the very beginning). Hopefully, like you said, a small variance is not going to matter that much...

Thank you Momknowsbest for your contribution.

How is it possible only one month between application and interview?

I thought the wait was much longer!

Yes, applied online on March 1st and interview was today April 27 the and I passed, he said to expect my oath ceremony to be in May, possibly June. Painless. I believe part of it is because I live in a smaller less populated state.

No I don't think that would be an issue, ideally you would know but the the 1st of the correct month would help or at least your best guess. Pictures on your phone, emails, text messages etc might help you find out.

I filed this form online when I moved to a different state.

Hi, I also submitted N400 via the USCIS online tool.

Did anyone else notice that when you go to 'documents' and look at the application 'snapshot' that the online tool did not complete the 'snapshot' properly?

e.g. (1) Part 2, Question 13 was not on the online application but it is on the snapshot, (1) Part 8 Question 1 auto fills the "country" even though it is only for foreign countries, (3) Part 9, Question 1 and Question 2 are not answered and Question 3 does not list all of my trips that I provided in the online application, (4) Part 10 Question 4 Part F has my spouse's address "country" as "unknown" but it is in the USA and that field should be empty, (5) Part 10 Question 8 is not completed, (6) Part 11 was not completed in the snapshot even though I completed it online.

I am worried that the online application process did not translate correctly to the paper form and that will cause issues for my application.

Did anyone else notice these issues?  Or is the snapshot not what USCIS officers use to review the application and the online tool did translate all information correctly?

Thanks so much!

I had one or two things not complete too in the snapshot, but I double ...well triple... checked the form on submission so I know it was complete.
