Hello everyone,

Unfortunately, my marriage didn’t work!

But I and my ex husband are in good terms! Amicable divorce due to too many differences , etc.

anyway- Got divorce decree by February 2018.

My 2 year GC will expire on October 2018.

as far as I’ve read, since I got the final divorce decree, can file ROC anytime, so I did!

- Mailed my i-751 package (via divorce waiver)  on March 26,2018

( USPS tracking) -

-Delivered on April 3,2018

- Check cashed - ( reflected on my bank account ). Dated april 12, 2018.

Does it mean, they accepted my petition?

So the waiting game again begins-

hopefully be getting the Receipt/NOA soon as well as the biometric appointment!

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but you’re supposed to file within 90 days of the expiration of your 2 yr green card. They may have cashed your check but you will be getting a denial once they realize you filed too early.

I believe I may be incorrect. I saw in someone else’s post you don’t have to wait for that time if your divorce is final. So you can ignore me and my big mouth. 😂

Haha, it’s okay.. yeah kind of confusing, but I’ve read alot about it as well

as the official uscis website. So I am confident I did the right thing!

Hoping for the best and all!

I will know sooner or later though 🤣🙂🙂

I haven’t log in - in a very long time, so Update for My I-751 case!

Notice Date : 4-10-2018 - 12 mos extension.

Then on 8/11/2018- Another NOA received that due to the delays of the processing- the extension is good for 18mos instead of 12mos.

NOTICE Date : 2/21/2019

Notice of Action : states that my case is being transferred to PoTomac Service center, so it has now the jurisdiction of my case!
