New I-751 Policy - Interviewing Everyone

Hello,

First time poster here, I have a I-751 case with my wife (Dec 2017 filer). I also received 2 "moved to your local office" notifications; one in early March and one just a few days ago.

I wanted to give an update from my lawyer and myself who deals with USCIS on the side because I have a few connections. It seems that a new policy just rolled out that all I-751's will now have an interview and it is required to happen 6 months or less after your first "moved to your local office" notification. My lawyer said she had a colleague that works close with USCIS that just found out about this very recently. I then asked a friend that works in USCIS dealing with paperwork, he said some new policies were coming down the pipe very soon that would effect a lot of people. Then finally, I called in today and spoke with a officer, I specifically asked about the new I-751 policy and she point blank said that yes, everyone will be interviewed within 6 months of the case going to the local office.

I did not speak with a tier 2 officer as of yet, that will be my next step. But I wanted to update everyone.

Thanks for the update. But so far this rule does not apply. Lot of people have got approved (You can see October 16 filers and very few November 16 filers) without interview and approval has come from Service center (not local office). I have been hearing this rumor since last year and always it seem to be some internal sources like lawyer, friends, colleagues etc. Perhaps in future, they might but good luck with I-751 time frame then considering local office backlogs.

I also just got an e-mail from CSC that my case is still in CSC with pre-adjudication unit even though online WAC numbers says my case was transferred to local office. so I don't buy this theory as of now.

I would love to be able to get more info, call them and ask about the new I-751 policy. You don't even need to call about your case, just say you have a policy question. I actually hope I am wrong, but 3 different fronts gave me the same answer.

Timeline

I thought the days of no interviews had gone, seriously doubt any specific timelines.

But then again, if there is no announcement from their website or listed as a required thing then we should not believe in them. Rumors can spread out anywhere, we should only believe if there are announcements from USCIS ends.

Maybe. I doubt they have the resources. We've been waiting since August 2016 and know the case has been at the Seattle office for over six months. There's no way they can reasonably interview everyone, let alone within six months.

Have you filed N400 yet? I am also in Seattle area. Kinda wanna know how long is gonna take for N400 to be processed.

That would be beyond resource constricting for them.

We filed ROC May 2017 and N400 March 2018.

Did get an April alert our case transferred and a new office has jurisdiction April 10th.

Then a letter today saying it was moved from CSC to NBC in Missouri.  Odd as we expected it to move to the local Cincinnati office.  Even more odd as they moved my wife's case but left my Step Daughters case in CSC.  Oh well

Yes - we filed in July. Filing for N400 while I751 extends the process as the join the cases together but for us, it makes sense as naturalization is the goal. We don't anticipate any response until July/August. People I've been in touch with seem to be getting called in a year after their N400 was submitted.

This is truly a long wait. I filed my i 751 the past Jan. I guess with this processing speed, even if I file N400, I won't get naturalized by the end of 2020. Thanks tho.

You seem to have many connections, and you also get to talk to officers that get very specific answers instead of the scripts they always read, and on top of that you're a newbie user in the forums.
