Hey everyone,

 

If anyone can help me out with this little situation i would really appreciate it. Right now my case is listed to being sent to Bangkok, Thailand. I guess because i put her address where she lives now in Bangkok. But however, it was suppose to be for Vientiane , Laos. It got to NVC today and we got assign a case number. So i call and they told me to email them. I could really use some help with this.

If you can't change it at NVC in time - which is usually the case fore a K-1 visa since it's only there for a few days - then you need to have the case transferred instead. This means waiting for the embassy to get it, then contacting the desired receiving embassy (in Laos) and requesting that they do a case transfer from Bangkok. They will need the case number, possibly the DOBs of both petitioner and beneficiary, and potentially evidence of the residency or citizenship of the beneficiary in Laos.

9/5/18: Interview scheduled notice, 10/17/18: Interview

10/24/18: Green card produced notice, 10/25/18: Formal approval, 10/31/18: Green card received

7/19/2017: Visa in hand

8/15/2017: POE

Yes. How long it does so depends on how quickly those embassies process the request.

In my personal experience between Riyadh and Manila, this added about 2 weeks total, which wasn't too bad. YMMV.
