I am sponsoring my parents and grandmother to visit me and my wife in the US. I wanted to know if it is essential to get a property valuation done through a licensed valuer?

My parents are insisting on it and I do not see a point to it, since I am sponsoring them

I have personally been a part of b1/b2 process and they hardly take 2-3 mins for interview.  do they still ask for such documents?

They have never asked for such documents, no sponsorship.

If your Parents want to show assets then it is their property that they need to show, but like you said it will not be looked at.

as stated, there aren't any sponsorships for a visitor visa, they apply and show strong ties to their country on their own

the property doesn't need to be valuated, but to show that they do have properties and other ties to their country

they have to convince the Consul that the will return. there is nothing you can do to sponsor them

You do not sponsor anyone's visitor visa.

Parents apply, pay the fee, and attend the interview.  You have no role (other than to help fill out the ds160). Property documents/valuations are not part of the process.
