I read the guide for AOS and I still have a question. Do you need all the vaccinations done before the AOS can be filed or just before the interview? What shots are required? Luz and Robin had the medical done before they arrived and had some of the shots.

Thanks!

Gary,

they need their shot record from the medical they had and have it transcribed to the vaccination supplement by a civil surgeon. When they're at the surgeon, if there is any shot missing, they will give it to them then. As to your question if you need that for filing AOS, I didn't know about the supplement at the time I filed, so I just sent the shot record from the Doctor in Morocco with my AOS, I didn't get an RFE, but I made sure I had it transcribed for our interview that's coming up next week. The transcription cost 5 dollars plus one shot for 90.

Hope this helps.

You need to send the vaccination supplament along with the AOS.... they will need to take the vaccination worksheet to a Civil Surgeon and get him to complete the form.... if they still need to get shots done they can have them at a local health clinic and just take the vaccination info from the clinic along with the worksheet from there medical to the Civil Surgeon...

I highly recomend bringing a copy of the instructions included with form I-485 and point out the section indicating that a medical is not needed under Fiancee K-1 visa, should apply for K-3 also, the Civil Surgeon I visited kept insisting in medical, until I pointed out the instructions.

Three vaccinations are required, tetanus, varicella, and MMR, my SO had them done after interview and was issued an international vaccinations book confirming them.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Oh I've been gone for a while!

We were married May 4 and our 90 days is up on May 24. We probably don't have enough time to get a Civil Surgeon to do the I-693A so will just file for AOS without it, and just send the worksheet Florenda got at her exam.

Maybe we will get an RFE but at least we filed before the 90 days is up.

A civil surgeon here copied the vaccine information from the DS-3025 to I-693A and we sent a sealed copy of that. My husband didn't have any additional shots.

Congratulations on your recent marriage! :) You don't have to have the supplement and your AOS package done up within the 90 days. While it's good to do it soon after you're married, there is no requirement to get that package out before the 90 days is over.

It only takes a short while to get the Vaccination Supplement transcribed. Make an appointment and he'll do it whilst you're there.

I recommend getting a Civil Surgeon to translate the shot record to the I=693A form. We submitted our copies of the shot records and even our state health department records where they put the shots on their form and submitted it with the AOS package. When we were at the interview for the AOS a few weeks ago, we were approved with the exception of the I-693A form. The Adjudicator gave me a list of the Civil Surgeons in the area and after we left the interview, I started calling. Some doctors of the list were no longer in practice there. Finally after about 7 or 8 calls, we found a clinic to transcribe the shot records. We went there and found out my wife needed a shot. We got it there and paid for the translation onto the proper form. We then went back to the USCIS office and put the sealed envelopes in the door slot. We got approved and received the green cards for both my wife and step-daughter.

My wife and I decided that we would wait for an RFE on the supplemental form. We had seen where some had gotten approved without the I-693A. I know that people on this forum said to get it done for the interview. I should have listened. It all worked out and really didn't hold anything up except maybe for a day. We were back at USCIS within 2 1/2 hours of he interview.

My recommendation, get to a Civil Surgeon and have the shot records transcribed to the proper form and take it with you to the Interview. You may want to wait to file and enclose it in your package.

Good luck in this journey. Have a great day.

PS: You do not have to file within 90 days. There is no time limit when to file for AOS.
