Still waiting for packet 3 as well.

@KAF did you send in a Packet 3 anyways? Have you been able to get a hold of them to see what the hold up is?

I took a look at recent interview dates and it looks like they are adding additional days of the week for interviews. I think they used to only interview on Wednesdays, but the last few entries show interview dates of May 16, 18 and 22. Perhaps trying to catch up?

Hi!

Fellow filer from Canada (Montreal) here. Where did you see the interview dates available? I'm trying to figure out how long I should expect to wait to get an appointment (we should get our NOA2 around the 17th-19th of August) but I can't find the answer online

Thanks!

@D&B and @kenikki - did you try the above? did it work?!

I took a quick look at it, but haven't registered for anything.

I'm scared to get too ahead of myself at this point.

Have you looked into it further?

I did a K1 Visa timeline search so I'm only getting interview dates from timelines on this site. I certainly wish there was a way to find out what dates are available presently. I know I'm quite a ways from booking an interview but it would be nice to either reassure myself "oh after the NOA2 it won't be that long" or prepare myself with "the NOA2 is just one of the long waits ahead" before POE. Try this link, I queried for Canada and visa interview dates.

I went as far as where it indicated if I had received an appointment letter I should sign up for an account. But I would guess this will be where we pick our interview dates once we are at that stage.

@kenikki I agree with you that you shouldn't register until you receive the appointment letter or further instructions. It's too bad once they receive your case  at the Consulate we aren't able to sign up immediately. It's an endless waiting game. I'm a Mom and although the 9 months waiting for that little baby seemed endless at times, I knew at 9 months if my baby wasn't making an appearance something would be done. The unknown of how long the wait will be is the hardest. If we were all told "ok, the process is going to take 10 months from start to finish and on this date you will receive your visa" it would make this process easier. At least for me. Then you're not constantly thinking," oh maybe mine will be quicker"...."oh no, what if mine is the one they leave behind"...and of course the control freak in me thinks "does a file ever get left on someone's desk and they just forget about it????"

It absolutely blows my mind that it takes 6-10 months to get the visa, yet they only allow you to get married within 90 days.

I agree with you both. 1) finite timelines would be great, they really should do this on a country by country basis at least. It wouldn't even be "favourtism" since for example, Montreal is said to be slower than others. It is what it is and the unknown is the worst part for sure!! And yes, having to wait this long to get the visa for a loved one is crazy. I despise all the people that have screwed with the system where they had to turn this process into such a lengthy and convoluted journey to ensure "frauds" are kept out. It really just hurts the rest of us trying to start our lives with our better half! Also yes - 90 days is a bit ridiculous. Considering that you have no way to plan for venues with even a ballpark time frame. Either way it's like the majority of people have to have a civil ceremony before their "desired wedding" just to ensure the 90-days in compliant versus being on say a 6-month wait list for maybe the venue of your dreams and such. Gah - no use in complaining, i'm simply getting myself rowlled up for something so out of my control :( Seems there was an Oct 25th approval today from what i read? yay!

I did once. But I received the automated answer. So now I am patiently waiting for it. Some VJ members got it between 2-3 wks so I guess all we have to do is wait.

What timeframes are recent NOA2 recipients with Beneficiaries in Canada experiencing?

My case was "READY" as of APRIL 03 2018; Just received Packet 3 earlier today.
(I had sent P3 twice before they sent me the official P3 email)

I googled the Packet 3 online. The most recent one I could find was dated from March 2016.

I can confirm that P3 links to this same version of the check list. So if you are going to send P3 without receiving the official email, this one should be OK to follow: https://ca.usembassy.gov/wp-content/uploads/sites/27/2016/07/Packet3Instructions-K1.pd

Thank you for the update @kenikki! Happy that you finally got that P3, nothing like have to sit in limbo. So are you resubmitting now that you received P3? Or did they acknowledge your previously submitted P3's? Also, how did they send you the P3 - via email or mail? If via email - how did they have your email? Is there something during the NVC process we do to have that? Also, can you see interview times yet? Keep us posted on the process if you don't mind - appreciate your updates immensely!!!!!!! :D

@SMK 89 Yes, I sent in the same Packet 3 again once the Embassy's email was received (like 10 minutes later, lol). There was no mention of previous emails received. The only difference in this submission was that I indicated in the email, "as requested on **date**."

P3 was received via email.
I don't recall providing my email address previously and I double checked the i-129f form and it doesn't appear to have asked for my email.

My theory is that they pick up whatever emails are listed in the supporting documentation provided in your application (IE hotel reservations, email printouts of travel confirmations, etc). My fiance and I were both confused as to how they sent the first two emails to his main email and also his alternative email (which he definitely did not include in the application). I just checked some of the docs that we provided and some of them listed his alternative email.

At this time, I am not able to see interview dates yet. I believe instructions to schedule the interview are sent along with Packet 4.

From P3:
"Please allow six weeks for the review of your case, after you send the required documents.  Upon completion of the review, the U.S. Consulate General in Montreal will send you a Packet 4 letter with instructions on how to get the medical exam done in Canada and how to schedule your immigrant visa appointment. Do not get your medical exam in advance as it has a limited validity!"

Thanks for this! It's good you mentioned how they got your email / how there wasn't a formal process because now I'm worried and have to figure out how to get them a valid email. The only place my email was listed was from bookings but it was a work email (which I no longer have). I guess I'll send them an email way in advance seeing as it can take awhile before they reply....

If anything, I would assume that they could still send P3 to the petitioner and request that they forward it to the beneficiary.
