It would be like if I suddenly decided to move into my next door neighbour's house, and push him into his garage. He then starts complaining, yelling, getting angry. My response is "Woah man I just want to live in peace with you. Be happy in the garage, I'll be happy in the house. Can't we just get along? Why do you have to be so upset?"

It's great that you can remain friends, and still discuss such a polorizing topic. Unfortunately no amount of arguing, reasoning or well thought argument will convince someone that just doesn't want to be convinced.

I know right? it kind of reminds me of some Palestinian friends I have.

More than you could imagine. I've had Palestinian friends since I was 15-16. Believe it or not, there are even settlers and Palestinians who are friends.
