Well this whole situation is getting more and more interesting by the day.

"If the Iranians act against Israel from Syrian territory, Syrian President Bashar Assad and his regime will be those that pay the price."

That is the clear message from senior officials in the Israeli defense establishment and IDF after the top adviser to Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei called a strike on the Syrian T-4 air base "Israel's crime" and said the alleged act would "not remain without response."

"Assad's regime and Assad himself will disappear from the map and the world if the Iranians do try to harm Israel or its interests from Syrian territory," said senior officials in the defense establishment.

"Our recommendation to Iran is that it does not try to act, because Israel is determined to continue on this issue to the very end," the officials said.

Israeli Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman said Tuesday that Israel will take all necessary steps to prevent Iran from establishing a permanent military base in Syria.

"No matter what the price, we will not allow Iran to have a permanent [military] foothold in Syria. We have no other choice," said Liberman.

Expanding on Liberman's comments, security officials believe that Iran may try to retaliate to the alleged Israeli attack, either with Iranian weapons transported into Syria from Iran or by "borrowing" Syrian army systems.

Officials do not believe that direct conflict between Israel, Iran and Syria will necessarily draw Lebanese militant group Hezbollah into the conflict.

"We hope that Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah will not join and be drawn into the campaign if it breaks out," senior security officials told The Jerusalem Post's sister newspaper Maariv on Tuesday.

"We have no interest in widening the front but, should it happen, Nasrallah needs to understand that his fate will be no different from the fate of Assad and he will pay a very heavy price."

Israeli officials were said to be confident Tuesday that US President Donald Trump intended to stand by his comments referring to a possible American strike in Syria, in response to another use of chemical weaponry by Assad's forces against his own citizens.

Israel could take out the hostile Palestinians in a day, and most every nearby enemy in probably about a week.

Maybe the best prospect for lasting peace is for someone's sand to be turned into glass, so that others might notice.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

I don't see Israel doing that(turning Assad's sand into glass) unless it sees no other options, but if the Iranians want to keep playing with fire, I also don't see Israel backing down - Russia be damned.

If I'm Iranian I'd recommend against testing that personally - if Haifa and Tel Aviv are destroyed Iran will cease to exist as a country anymore. The holocaust memorial day was in the last week, every year throughout the week and especially the eve/day, you get to hear/read lots of survivor stories, articles, movies, shows about it etc. It's incredible that from being completely defenseless just over 70 years ago, there is now a strong military making sure Jewish people are protected. I wouldn't recommend anyone test the resolve that makes sure that never changes.

Sure, the Palestinians are already defacto Israeli citizens, just without any of the privileges, unless you count living life under the "protection/shadow" of an Israeli sniper, the joy of being subjected to daily random searches, confinement to their homes for long periods of time and regular power shortages. Yes sir, I just don't understand why any of them should be upset. Obviously everything is their fault, if they would only move and stop resisting Israeli settlers from taking their land, as their own.

I struggle with this question all the time. One of my best friends is Jewish and has Israeli Citizenship. We've gotten into some heated (but friendly, though partly fueled by alcohol) arguments about it.

It would be like if I suddenly decided to move into my next door neighbour's house, and push him into his garage. He then starts complaining, yelling, getting angry. My response is "Woah man I just want to live in peace with you. Be happy in the garage, I'll be happy in the house. Can't we just get along? Why do you have to be so upset?"

When was the last time Iran invaded another country? Are you serious? lol. The Iranians sent their friends to take over Lebanon which used to be a beautiful country, and now Syria, and well actually this whole region, just because it's not being done with tanks, doesn't make it any less of an invasion. The Iranians finance and support most terrorism around the globe currently, starts with Hezbollah but far from ends there. And it's the Iranians who have been saying for years they want to destroy Israel, not the other way around. Keep sticking your head in the sand,  but it's not going to change reality. Iran makes the Saudis look like humanity's best friend.

IDF revealed on Friday that a study of the Iranian drone that infiltrated Israeli airspace in February before being intercepted by an IDF Apache helicopter and am investigation of its deployment revealed it was strapped with explosives and aimed to carry out an attack in Israel.

When was the last time Iran invaded a country...LMAO

As I said, after being defenseless against not only the holocaust but constant pogroms and prosecution, the Jewish people now have the ability to defend themselves by themselves. Anyone who believes the state of Israel does not have the right to exist, is off their rocker.

Are you saying Israel started the war with Hezbollah in 2006? (I seem to remember Hezbollah killing and capturing Israeli soldiers in Israeli territory which started the conflict)

Are you saying Iran does not support Hezbollah? (Iranian munitions and explosives are regularly fielded by them)

Actually I was referring to another earlier invasion, there has been so many, it is hard to keep up.

Iran supports Hezbollah, and the USA supports the IDF. Your point is what?  I am not going to argue about the motivation for the invasion, because God knows a certain other poster will be more than happy to spam this forum with page after page of Israeli carefully written IDF propaganda, and honestly, life is too short for to waste time over such rot.
