Take a copy of their orders with you, that's all you need and you'll be fine :)

Did you have your interview without your spouse? Do orders have to be signed?

No, my Husband has been out for a bit. Have him scan & mail his orders or fax them over to you. Which office do you have your interview at? (purely for curiosity)

Each division of the military has an immigration lawyer. Speak to you FRO (family readiness officer) and she will give you the number. They will contact everyone they need and get together what you need to be prepared and let the interviewer know that he’s deployed. You’ll be fine! P.S it’s all free - I did this with my hubby in the USMC

There is no immigration lawyer, only an immigration advisor. She gave us sooooo much wrong information when I was going to move here that I seriously don't trust her. She advised me to come here on a tourist visa and get married instead of a K1 etc. When I finally came to the US (On my K1) she said that I now have to do a medical here and that I can absolutely not get an SSN...... I'd rather not take any more advice for her lol

Ladies! So I got his deployment orders now! They are not signed (Apparently they don't sign orders anymore?) So I hope it will be accepted. Do you have any other suggestions of what I should bring to my interview as my husband won't be with me? I really don't feel like printing out 500 pages of conversations again (did that when we applied for the K1) and they didn't even look at it at the embassy..... Should I ask my husband to write a letter?
I am bringing photos, joint tax return, proof that we live together, statements of joint accounts, Power of attorney.... What do you think?

You should be fine and the 500 pages is way overboard btw. But best of luck to you ma'am.

Thats strange, I’m sorry you had that experience im not sure where you are based but we went to base legal and spoke to an immigration attorney and they did everything for us for free and they were very very helpful. Maybe seek further assistance. Good luck though I’m sure you’ll be fine!!!! They’re so good with the military! :)

Are they good with the military? ;O Before my husband deployed we contacted them and asked if it could be expedited so he could go with me to my interview before he left but they denied that straight away. It also took over 7months for me to receive my EAD so I was just sitting here, all alone doing nothing, even after he left.

Sorry if I am being a bit of a negative Nancy now :D lol

Girl!!!!!! I filed my EAD and GC December 2017 and I have still heard NOTHING so I’m sat on base not able to work or drive!!!!!!! Driving me INSANEEEEEE!! The expedited my K1 to get here but since then havnt been helpful.

I contacted my state senator, he contacted USCIS on my behalf, and they have expedited it for me two weeks ago, I’m 158 days in, expedited due to deployment (I showed proof to my senator) but still no news.

strange they denied that as my friend here on base also from Kent, got her GC within 3 months because of deployment!!!!!! Depends who you get on the phone. Call base legal and go see your field officer!

Maybe also contact your state senator like I did!

I am also a negative Nancy at this point. Don’t worry. I wouldn’t put my worst enemy through the immigration process.

Finally, someone who knows how it feels!!!!! :D Our congressman contacted USCIS several times for us but nothing happened. Uscis just said that I have to wait like everyone else. I have the e-mail here saying that my expedite was denied (even though my husband was deploying) and I'll bring that e-mail to my interview.
I don't know why I have been so badly treated (I actually feel badly treated). After my husband left for deployment I didn't even have my EAD and I was so scared that something would happen back home. I finally have my interview booked though! I just have to show up there all alone. Btw, it took over 7 months for me to get my EAD.

So I just wanted to give you an update. My interview went very well and was super quick. The officer was really nice and understood why my husband couldn't be there. I was approved on the spot and have already received my approval letter.
