vietnam administrative review

My fiance went in for her follow-up interview. The blue slip required that i provide a bunch of other information and an explanation. Which i submitted, all 26 pages worth of documents and explanations. She got her number and submitted her document at the first window and then she was told to wait at window #9. She waited for about three hours and a gentleman came out to tell her to go home and wait notification from the consulate. He handed her back nothing.

So, is this what is considered administrative review? if you, what are the possible paths from here?

Thanks

Sounds like they are going to review all the paperwork that you submitted that was requested. Now someone from the consulate/embassy will examine it and then make a decision. I would take it easy and hopefully in a short time you will have your visa issued. AR/AP is not uncommon and it does not have a time limit that they will have to answer you but take your journey one day at a time and it makes it easier while you are awaiting word from them. If they kept her passport that is a very good sign but if they did not do not worry because it depends on the interviewer and each embassy/consulate operates differently. Hang in there.

Good luck with the AR. It sounds like you submitted a lot of documentation so hopefully it will help the CO make a decision in your favor.

Yes you are right on the waiting and calling them part. It was one of the sweetest moments in my life and it actually worked out exactly as i imagined it. I called and gave case number and they said "actually your case is approved...." and then you guys can guess how the rest went....this is awesome! Thank you for all your help and support and i mean that sincerely......from the both of us: THANK YOU ALL!

My fianc'e & I are in the same boat. Our application was approved quickly, but has slowed to a craw.

She interviewed in Jan. We submitted extra documentation on Feb.26,2007.

The only response from the consulate is "WAIT FOR A LETTER TO YOUR FIANC'E" it is now been over 3 monts!

We are now in limbo - not denied or approved for visa. If you hear of any time line news please let me know.

You may want to contact HCMC every week to keep them busy with your file. Think of it this way, whenever you call, they MUST dig up your case to give you the answer to your question. The more you call, the more they have to touch and bring up your case, the more visibility it is to them. Don't want to have your case stacked and shipped to a storage space inside the consulate, or left at the bottom of the pile on someone's desk?
