In what is almost certainly a global first for any world leader, early this morning, President Trump used his Twitter feed to announce he is launching missile attacks in Syria. So much for the element of surprise:

The key phrase here is “No Collusion or Obstruction (other than I fight back).” When you say “other than,” you are conceding it fits into the larger category, while identifying it as an exception: I didn’t eat the cookies you left out, other than the one that already had a bite out of it. In this case, however, “fight back” is an exception large enough to encompass all Trump’s efforts to impede the investigation into Russian interference on behalf of his campaign. Everything from demanding James Comey let Michael Flynn go free to firing Comey to dangling pardons for Paul Manafort is fighting back against the investigation. He is rebranding obstruction of justice as Trump fighting back. Of course, Trump already admitted a year ago, on camera, he fired Comey to stop the Russia investigation, so it’s hardly a Tom Cruise–Jack Nicholson moment.

The confession came as a kind of side thought to his larger point, which is that his presidency is “very calm and calculated.” Because obviously.

His life must be my definition of hell: 

55 % of the people in the country hate my guts, I am the subject of a Federal Investigation and a Russian mobster has Kompromat on me. No  major reputable law firm will represent me. I have several civil lawsuits accusing me of violating ethics or worse and my lawyer who paid off my mistress and then threatened her has been raided by SDNY.  I dine regularly on KFC and Well done steak. I live in a Federal Prison but they let me out to golf on most weekends.  I wake up at 5 AM watch Fox and Friends because they are my friends and they bring on folks who give me free legal advice which I promptly tweet out to the world. 

 

And now I have struck up a twitter feud with the mobster.

I see Paul Ryan has jumped off the Trumptanic. He probably goes down in history as the Worst Speaker ever. Only accomplishment was the tax cuts, which exploded the deficit and national debt.

We are talking about something Trump actually said, not what we think he did or did not do.

 

He actually said he didn't do something, "other than" what he did. Other than literally means except. So he said he didn't do it, except he did.

 

Regardless of what Hillary did or did not do, I doubt she was ever dumb enough to admit it. Trump doesn't even understand the English language.
